  • CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville
2018 NFL DRAFT SCOUTING REPORT APRIL 13, 2018 NFL Draft 2018 Scouting Report: CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville *CB grades can and will change as more information comes in from Pro Day workouts, Wonderlic test results leaked, etc. We will update info as it becomes available. Jaire Alexander is a 1st-round prospect for most…and when I contemplate Alexander’s true value, I always revert to comparing him to another 1st-round CB prospect – Mike Hughes, Central Florida. Both a little smaller than you’d like – 5′10″ and under 200 pounds. Alexander is a few pounds heavier, but Hughes is a little thicker/stronger. Both tested with great agility…Alexander with elite shuttle (3.98) and three-cone (6.71) times. Alexander’s quite a bit faster 40-time wise (4.38 vs. 4.53). In the end, Alexander has to be judged a better CB prospect than Mike Hughes – Alexander is a little bigger, faster, and more agile. Is Alexander worthy of 1st-round consideration? I think so. Given his speed-agility and his tape…it makes sense. Alexander is a little small out on an island in coverage, but I judged him as a superior coverage technician than Hughes…and one of the best craftsmen among the CB prospects in the 2018 draft class. When Alexander gets up in press, he has the quickness to mirror a WR all the way or recover if he loses a step off the jump. Alexander has a fantastic ability to locate the ball, and he also times his hand movements just right to chop/dislodge connected passes away from his WR.

1 WATERTOWN DAILY TIMES December 31, 2018 MONDAY Section Four End of some eras, start of others marked 2018 By the Daily Times staff In 2018, some storied eras came to a close while others were just beginning. For the Green Bay Packers, a second straight season miss- ing the playoffs cost longtime head coach Mike McCarthy his job. His tenure will be best re- membered for the team’s fourth Super Bowl championship won in 2010. The downward slide could be attributed to injuries, underperforming draft picks over a long period of time or coaching, or all of them. Re- gardless, back-to-back seasons of missing the playoffs with one of the best quarterbacks in the game in Aaron Rodgers was unacceptable in Titletown. The Badgers took a step back both on the men’s basketball court and the gridiron. Wiscon- sin’s football team is used to playing in January bowl games and finished last season last year with a late December bowl game. The same was true this year. For anyone who remem- bers Badger football before Barry Alvarez arrived in 1993, these are still the good days with a high bar. The men’s basketball team enjoyed a run similar to the football team but finally saw its run of NCAA Tournament appearances come to a close in DAILY TIMES 2018. ARIZONA CARDINALS Passing Game: QB Kyler Murray • Week 1 – 230, 1-1, 13-91-1 @ SF. Murray was actually at 100 RUYD before kneeling twice for -5 yards in victory formation. Fantasy football can be so heart- breaking. His performance was still nice after a slow start. He meshed well with DeAndre Hopkins, operating at an up-tempo pace (76 snaps). Murray’s rushing was the difference against a good 49ers defense, allowing the Cardinals to come from behind and pull off the week 1 upset. • Week 2 – 286, 1-1, 8-67-2 vs. WAS. The speedy, elusive Murray again made defenders look silly on his way to the end zone twice on scrambles. He is running a lot more this year. He’s showing out with a better supporting cast thanks to DeAndre Hopkins. • Week 3 – 270, 2-3, 5-29-1 vs. DET. He wasn’t very good in this game, but the fantasy points were still scored because he accounted for all 3 of the Cardinals’ TDs. Murray’s RUTD was a ridiculously freaky juke that embarrassed the defender. He has a RUTD in 3 straight games. Murray relentlessly worked his connection with DeAndre Hopkins and found Andy Isabella for his first score. • Week 4 – 133, 3-0, 6-78-0 @ CAR. Murray and the Cardinals offense was much worse in real life, but Murray’s fantasy line was great. The Cardinals were outmatched for more than 2 quarters. At halftime, Murray had 54 PAYD. Murray turned it on when the Cards were trailing 28-7.
