Introduction Singapore was the first country in the region to officially articulate an aim to attract medical tourists and promote the export of health services overseas. In 2003, the Healthcare Services Working Group (HSWG) of the Economic Review Committee recommended that Singapore attract one million foreign patients by 2012. To achieve this goal, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), along with the Economic Development Board (EDB) and International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, launched SingaporeMedicine in 2003, a multi-agency initiative that aims to promote, develop and maintain Singapore as an international medical hub. However, in recent years, the push for medical tourism has been muted. Sectiononeof this paper summarizes the Singapore context for a past medical tourism hub policy, followed by an overview of the health system, with policy implications for the system should medical tourism become a major growth area. Methodology is then described in section two, followed by the findings of the SWOT analysis conducted among stakeholders in the health services sector. 111 The objective of this paper is to: 1. Information on general uses of optical equipment 1. Subjective Refraction: it is a type of visual test carried out to determine the degree of one’s short- sightedness or long-sightedness. Any patient who is undergoing subjective refraction will normally be presented with test lenses of different optical powers or focal lengths before being prescribed the most suitable lenses. 2. Fundus photography: it is an advanced digital retina photography capturing an image of the back of the eye. It is often used to inspect anomalies and to monitor progression of eye diseases such as macular degeneration, retina neoplasms, choroid disturbances and diabetic retinopathy. 3. Non-contact Tonometer (NCT): it is a diagnostic tool to measure the intraocular pressure (IOP) inside a patient’s eyes to determine patient’s risk for developing glaucoma, a disease that causes blindness by damaging the nerve in the back of the eye.

This leads to an unparalleled exchange of ideas and routes to address clinical problems with engineering solutions. The ultimate forum where these interchanges occur is at the Annual Meeting of the Engineering and Urology Society held in conjunction with the Annual American Urological Association Meeting. The EUS meeting is also the only dedicated section of the Endourology Society at the AUA. The Annual Meeting of the Engineering and Urology Society offers the delegates an opportunity to present and learn about the latest research developments in urologic technology. The morning session consists of state of the art lectures and discussions in cutting-edge areas of technology. The afternoon poster sessions and ever-growing subgroup meetings allow members to present their work, discuss, and obtain further feedback and ideas from fellow technophiles. This year’s 29th Annual Meeting will take place on May 17th, and has been organized by program chairmen Stavros Gravas, Bodo Knudsen, and M. Pilar Laguna. The morning sessions will begin with a thought- provoking discussion on the intersection of lab training and new imaging technology and urology. Following that, the spotlight is turned to advances in evidence making in uro-technology. Next, colleagues from the European Association of Urology (EAU), Uro-Technology section (ESUT) will present developments for new endoscopic instrumentation.
