Copa Mediterraneo 2021 (Men) Summer 03 - 04 July 2021 Spain - Blanes - Tordera COPA MEDITERRANEO 2021 (MEN) SUMMER 03 - 04 JULY 2021 SPAIN - BLANES - TORDERA Sun, sea and football at the Costa Brava There’s no region in the world that is visited by so many foreign teams as the Costa Brava, the most popular coast north of Barcelona. The combination of a sporty international competition, the sun, the sea and the enjoyment in bathing resort Lloret de Mar, attracts teams from across Europe. No wonder that the Copa Penya Barcelonista also has an attractive international entry. The tournament is definitely a challenge: if you want to bring the cup home you really have to pull out all the stops. CATEGORIES: MEN (M-O), MEN (M-O/7), VETERANS (M35), VETERANS (M35/7) PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES: ORGANISER: UE CIRERA NUMBER OF TEAMS: 80 FIRST EDITION: 1994 Programme* Participants can count on an exciting stay: a mix of international competition and holiday fun. The programme is simple: there is some serious football playing on the Saturday or Sunday (Saturday for the categories M-O and M-O/7 and Sunday for M35 and M35/7). Each tournament day is concluded with a nice barbeque on the terrace of the sports complex (inclusive for all players). The matches are played at a unique sports park with 14 tight grass fields a short distance from the hotels. The organisation is in the hands of a team of professionals who organise the tournament together with the Catalan football association. Friday Sunday Afternoon Morning Arrival: welcome and information in the Blanes community Tournament day for M35 and M35/7 sports centre A minimum of 6 matches of 20 minutes will be played Evening Afternoon Leisure time to enjoy the nightlife at the Costa Brava BBQ for all participants M35 and M35/7. Leisure time for all other teams Saturday Morning Monday Tournament day for M-O and M-O/7 Morning A minimum of 6 matches of 20 minutes will be played Departure. Afternoon BBQ for all players M-O and M-O/7. Leisure time for all other teams Organiser Club Futbol de Tordera has been founded in 1914 and with 500 members it's a large club in Catalunya. It has 12 youth teams and 2 senior teams. The first team of the club is playing in the first regional division of Catalunya. * Sports programm is subject to change and nr. of subscriptions per category * 1. Top Ten Sports Park Sport facilities The Copa Mediterraneo is played out in a separate section of a large sports ground just outside Blanes. It features 15 grass pitches, various other facilities (changing rooms, parking, first aid), and a café bar with a spacious shaded terrace. A terrace with a BBQ has been added to the reserved area. The park is laid out in terraces, giving supporters a good view of the fields. During tournament days, team leaders can get information and do their bookings at the multilingual Euro-Sportring desk. This area, north of Barcelona, is actually one of the most popular coastlines in Europe. In particular, between the towns of Calella and Lloret de Mar you'll find miles of beautiful sandy beaches and boulevards dotted with cafés, clubs and restaurants. Every spot along the coast, from Lloret de Mar to Santa Susanna of Malgrat de Mar, has its own unique charm and attractions. FC Barcelona, Camp Nou Stadium A visit to Camp Nou stadium is definitely worth the effort. With 110,000 seats it's the largest stadium in Europe. And of course, as a football fan, there's no getting away from FC Barcelona. For the people of Catalonia, ‘Barça’ is more than just a football club. Barcelona unites all Catalonians! Barcelona Barcelona is somewhere you simply have to see. This unique city has a number of extraordinary attractions. The Sagrada Familia is one of the most bizarre and characteristic buildings in the city. This cathedral has been under construction since 1882. The Plaza de Catalunya and las Ramblas are also special meeting points, with lots of shops, restaurants and terraces. Other beautiful areas include the Gothic quarter, with its narrow, picturesque alleyways; Montjuic hill, the location of the Olympic Park and with a stunning view over the city and sea. And last but not least, don't miss out on a trip to Park Guell..

FP7 BeWater D4.3: Four River Basin Adaptation Plans 6 Preface Global change projections for the Mediterranean region predict an increase in water scarcity and drought episodes, as well as other extreme events such as heat waves and violent sea storms. There is a high likelihood that these events will entail substantial socioeconomic losses and adverse environmental impacts if no action is taken to support territories’ adaptation efforts. Furthermore, changes in population patterns and land use, such as urban expansion or the abandonment or intensification of agriculture, also affect the response of territories to these events. In this context, sustainable water management strategies are urgently needed as they will enhance the resilience of socioecological systems. Current water management practices focus on the river basin level as the natural geographical and hydrological unit. Resilient water management strategies focusing on the river basin can respond to pressures within this unit in an appropriate way, while trying to minimise disruption to socioecological systems. The BeWater project (‘Making Society an Active Participant in Water Adaptation to Global Change’) is funded by the European Union through the 7th Framework Programme, and aims to address the above challenges by promoting dialogue and collaboration between science and society for sustainable water management and adaptation to the impacts of global change.

Tot i així, hi ha alguna espècie introduïda, com el barb roig (Phoxinus phoxinus), que està augmentant en distribució i abundància. El seguiment de la comunitat de peixos a la Tordera ens permetrà conèixer l’estat ecològic del riu i la seva evolució, ja que els peixos són uns bons indicadors de la qualitat de l’ecosistema. The municipality of Blanes is situated at the southern end of the Costa Brava and its economy is mainly based on industrial and tourist activities. It is located at the mouth of the Tordera River, the coastal aquifer of which was declared officially protected in 2003 due to both the drought of that time and to the heavy water extractions. Three main measures undertaken by the Catalan Water Agency were: i) the construction of a 10 hm 3/year desalination plant (2002), to reduce groundwater extraction; ii) the construction of a water reclamation facility (Title-22, 2003), to stop the discharge of effluent into the sea and to favour the aquifer recharge; and iii) the regulation of the aquifer extractions. Since then, an intense physicochemical and microbiological monitoring of the reclaimed water has been performed, including suspended solids, turbidity, transmittance at 254 nm, nutrients, cations and anions, heavy metals, trihalomethanes, pesticides and halogenated organic solvents, and the concentrations of E. coli , Clostridium spores, bacteriophages and three different serotypes of Legionella .
