COPA MEDITERRANEO 2021 (MEN) SUMMER 03 - 04 JULY 2021 SPAIN - BLANES - TORDERA Sun, sea and football at the Costa Brava There’s no region in the world that is visited by so many foreign teams as the Costa Brava, the most popular coast north of Barcelona. The combination of a sporty international competition, the sun, the sea and the enjoyment in bathing resort Lloret de Mar, attracts teams from across Europe. No wonder that the Copa Penya Barcelonista also has an attractive international entry. The tournament is definitely a challenge: if you want to bring the cup home you really have to pull out all the stops. CATEGORIES: MEN (M-O), MEN (M-O/7), VETERANS (M35), VETERANS (M35/7) PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES: ORGANISER: UE CIRERA NUMBER OF TEAMS: 80 FIRST EDITION: 1994 Programme* Participants can count on an exciting stay: a mix of international competition and holiday fun. The programme is simple: there is some serious football playing on the Saturday or Sunday (Saturday for the categories M-O and M-O/7 and Sunday for M35 and M35/7). Each tournament day is concluded with a nice barbeque on the terrace of the sports complex (inclusive for all players). The matches are played at a unique sports park with 14 tight grass fields a short distance from the hotels. The organisation is in the hands of a team of professionals who organise the tournament together with the Catalan football association. Afternoon BBQ for all players M-O and M-O/7. Leisure time for all other teams Organiser Club Futbol de Tordera has been founded in 1914 and with 500 members it's a large club in Catalunya. It has 12 youth teams and 2 senior teams. The first team of the club is playing in the first regional division of Catalunya. * Sports programm is subject to change and nr. of subscriptions per category * 1. Top Ten Sports Park Sport facilities The Copa Mediterraneo is played out in a separate section of a large sports ground just outside Blanes. It features 15 grass pitches, various other facilities (changing rooms, parking, first aid), and a café bar with a spacious shaded terrace. A terrace with a BBQ has been added to the reserved area. The park is laid out in terraces, giving supporters a good view of the fields. During tournament days, team leaders can get information and do their bookings at the multilingual Euro-Sportring desk. The Plaza de Catalunya and las Ramblas are also special meeting points, with lots of shops, restaurants and terraces. Other beautiful areas include the Gothic quarter, with its narrow, picturesque alleyways; Montjuic hill, the location of the Olympic Park and with a stunning view over the city and sea.
