PRO of the Community Council, Doug Lucey said, “This work is very days welcome and should certainly improve the appearance of the village. The additional drainage works is badly needed but there is a lot more work to be done in the village and on the outskirts to sort out the flooding and we hope that this can be addressed in the near future. There will be some dis- ruption during these works so we are asking people be patient and slow down while the road works are underway.” Resurfacing has also taken place between Godfrey’s Cross and Dripsey Ambush Monument. Unfortunately the Cork County Council are unable to give any firm commitments on the start of the major works needed to address the poor condition of the Coachford to Peake road.
