The 19-year-old Brit of Team Motopark, who triumphed in the gambler’s paradise in the Far East last year, dominated throughout the race weekend and celebrated a commanding win in both races of the FIA Formula 3 World Cup. Ticktum, who set the fastest lap time in the practice session and won the qualifying race on Saturday, started the main race on Sunday from pole position and refused to surrender the lead right down to the finish line. The following decisions were taken: FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Changes to the 2012 Technical Regulations • All engine standard ECU set up and control parameters, which were formerly contained only within a Technical Directive, are now contained within the relevant parts of the Technical Regulations. • The exhaust tailpipes are now strictly regulated in order to ensure that the aerodynamic effect exhaust gases have on the car is kept to an absolute minimum. • Better marking of in-car emergency switches operated by marshals are now stipulated. • The side impact structures will now have to be subjected to a further (upward) push-off test. Changes to the 2012 Sporting Regulations • Cars may no longer take part in pre-season testing without having passed all crash tests. • There will now be a maximum race time of four hours to ensure that a lengthy suspension of a race does not result in a race that could run up to eight hours if left unregulated. • Before the safety car returns to the pits all lapped cars will be allowed to unlap themselves and then join the back of the pack, ensuring a clean re-start without slower cars impeding those racing for the leading positions.

FRENCH TV STAR VISITED WTCC IN MAGNY-COURS Cécile de Ménibus, French TV and radio star, spent last Sunday in Magny-Cours. A special guest at the WTCC Beru Race of France. Cécile, who hosts the everyday morning programme on Fun Radio and a Thursday evening TV show on TF1, played an active role during her visit: she signed autographs, walked on the grid, drove one lap in the Chevrolet Lacetti safety-car, awarded trophies on the podium and, last but not least, watched both races with enthusiasm. “I love this championship!” she said. “It’s so exciting, with a lot of action, overtaking and the reverse grid.
