Saverio Clemente Andrea De Amici Luca Targetti

Sonoda Ryuchiro, born in Tokyo in 1976, started his musical education at age 6 studying Piano. He graduated in in 2004 at the Tokyo National University of Music and Fine Arts under the guidance of James Lockhart, Masahisa Endo and Kotaro Sato. He then studied with Kurt Masur in Tokyo, Charles Dutoit at the Miyazaki International Music Festival and Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, where he was awarded the Carlo Corsini Prize in 2004 and graduated with honors in 2006.

He was assistant to Gianluigi Gelmetti in numerous productions, including: La Bohème, , Semiramide, Le Nozze di Figaro, Tristan und Isolde and in ; Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Real in Madrid; and La Rondine in Tokyo with the Japan Philharmonic.

During the season 2006/07, he conducted in , La Bohème for the Japan Opera Foundation in Tokyo and Il Viaggio a Reims at the in . Ryuichiro Sonoda Conductor Highlights of his collaborations also include: a concert with the Orchestra della Toscana; a concert with the Orchestra of the Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania; L’Italiana in Algeri at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad; Die Zauberflöte at the Biwako-Hall in Japan; La Gazza Ladra in Bologna, Reggio Emilia and in Bad Wildbad; L'Elisir d'Amore at the Opera Foundation in Tokyo; a symphonic concert at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Giselle at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, in Osaka; Le Nozze di Teti e Peleo and La Morte di Didone at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; Coppelia and a symphonic concert in Bologna; Verdi’s in Chiba (Japan); Lucia di Lammermoor at the Japan Opera Foundation in Tokyo; Die Zauberflöte at the Biwako Hall in Tokyo; a concert at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste; and Il viaggio a Reims in Antwerpen.

His engagements include: The rape of Lucretia of Britten in Trieste, Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Aichi Arts Center in Nagoya, concerts in Tokyo and New Year Concert, and Armida at Vlaamse Opera in Antwerpen, L’elisir d’amore a Trieste.
