Prof. Sarath Amunugama, President of the Royal Institute graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A total of 130 Graduate Chemists, 6 Advanced Diplomates in Chemistry, and 88 Diplomates in Laboratory Technology in Chemistry were conferred with their respective designation and awards. Mr. P. L. Fernando was held on the 3rd of March 2021 at Adamantane House, Institute of Chemistry Ceylon. The st1 death anniversary of Emeritus Professor W. S. Fernando was also commemorated. The event was successfully brought to an end with the garlanding of Professor J. N. O. Fernando’s statue.

The ceremony was held virtually (Zoom) with the participation of members of Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, Alumni of CCS, academic and non-academic staff, students, family members of Prof. J. N. O. Fernando as well as his close associates. A commemoration speech dedicated to Emeritus Professor W. S. Fernando, was presented by Professor Sudantha Liyanage, Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Past President of the OBITUARY Institute of Chemistry Ceylon.
