The weekend at Laguna Seca was a great return to sports car racing for Porsche. Porsche had waited until the last ALMS race of the 2005 series to debut it’s LMP2 racer, the RS Spy- der. The RS Spyder finished first in class (LMP2) and obtained a fifth place overall, beating a few LMP1 cars as well. These photographs were taken by two of our members, Rich & Amanda. When he is not racing Porsches, CJ runs Helifilms - a helicopter filmwork company which provides aerial images for feature films and the world’s biggest sporting events including the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and FIFA World Cup. CJ has flown helicopters himself - in both filming and stunt-based roles - for box office hits such as Transformers, Star Trek into Darkness and Déjà Vu. CJ is also a Producer for his own film and television production company. CJ took up motorsport in 2011 after attending a club event at California’s Auto Club Speedway where he sampled a friend’s BMW and since then has contested a season in IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge, where he finished 2nd in the Gold Cup class in 2012 having won a race at the legendary Mosport circuit in Canada. Davison’s history with Porsche dates back to 2000 when, as a teenager straight out of Formula Ford, he raced for Manthey Racing in Carrera Cup Germany.
