McKewon selected for PLA seminar

Bonnie McKewon, director of North West Regional Library System in Sioux City, has been selected by the Public Library Association (PLA) to participate in a three-day "train-the- trainer" seminar in Nashville, TN. Twenty library professionals nationwide were chosen through a competitive application process to receive training on "Managing for Results," which will occur June 19-22, 2000. "Managing for Results: Effective Resource Allocation for Public Librar- ies" was written and published by PLA in January 2000. It is designed to give library staff the tools they need to gather information about their current resources, and to make better deci- sions about allocating those resources in ways to achieve the library's short- term and long-range plan. Upon completing the training, McKewon will be considered an official PLA Managing for Results trainer. She may conduct a workshop at this year's Iowa Library Association Conference. 7 May/June 2000 FOOTNOtES
