Movies – movies – Movies September 2, 2021 - “Love Among The Ruins” This romantic comedy-drama stars screen legends Katharine Hepburn and Laurence Olivier. The scene is Victorian London, where wealthy widow Hepburn is being sued for breach of promise by her much-younger ex-fiancé. Olivier is the highly respected barrister engaged to defend Hepburn in court. The usually reserved Olivier relishes the opportunity to see Hepburn, who 40 years earlier had been his lover. He is driven to hilarious distraction by Hepburn’s adamant insistence that she has never seen him before. (C) (1975) (1h 42m) (NR). September 9, 2021 - “Forrest Gump” Slow-witted Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks) has never thought of himself as disadvantaged, and thanks to his supportive mother (Sally Field), he leads anything but a restricted life. Whether dominating on the gridiron as a college football star, fighting in Vietnam or captaining a shrimp boat, Forrest inspires people with his childlike optimism. But one person Forrest cares about most may be the most difficult to save -- his childhood love, the sweet but troubled Jenny (Robin Wright). (C) (1994) (2h 21m) (PG-13). September 16, 2021 - “Fisherman's Friends” A fast living, cynical London music executive (Daniel Mays) heads to a remote Cornish village on a stag weekend where he's pranked by his boss (Noel Clarke) into trying to sign a group of shanty singing fishermen (led by James Purefoy). He becomes the ultimate "fish out of water" as he struggles to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely group and their families who value friendship and community over fame and fortune. (C) (2019) (1h 34m) (PG-13). September 23, 2021 - “When We Last Spoke” In 1967, two sisters are abandoned and raised by grandparents in the town of Fireside. Humor, heartbreak and triumph are served with whipped cream and lots of local nuts in this heartwarming tale of family, friendship and forgiveness. Starring Cloris Leachman, Corbin Bernsen & Melissa Gilbert (C) (2019) (2h) (NR). September 30, 2021 - “Moonrise Kingdom” The year is 1965, and the residents of New Penzance, an island off the coast of New England, inhabit a community that seems untouched by some of the bad things going on in the rest of the world. Twelve-year-olds Sam (Jared Gilman) and Suzy (Kara Hayward) have fallen in love and decide to run away. But a violent storm is approaching the island, forcing a group of quirky adults (Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand & Tilda Swinton) to mobilize a search party and find the youths before calamity strikes. (C) (2012) (1h 34m) (PG-13). STARDUST THEATRE Kuentz R.C. (Johnson Blvd. @ Stardust Blvd.) $2.00/Person Donation - (Doors Open @ 6 P.M.) Program starts at 7:00 P.M. or when all seats filled.
