Dr. Zahi Hawass to Sign Books Tuesday, January 12 at the Grand Rapids Public Museum

Grand Rapids, MI – The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) announced today that Dr. Zahi Hawass will be available for a book signing from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12 at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Visitors who are interested in the book signing can visit the Curiosity Shop at the GRPM to purchase Dr. Hawass’s book “Discovering ,” and meet Dr. Hawass to have their book signed.

Dr. Hawass will give a lecture at the GRPM on “Pyramids – King TUT and – Recent Discoveries” as part of The Discovery of King Tut exhibition on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.

Zahi Hawass is one of the most famous archaeologists and Egyptologists in the world. Countless excavations, research projects, publications, television documentaries and lecture tours have made him known to a wide audience. Up until the political upheaval in in 2011 he was the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

The lecture will take place in the GRPM’s Meijer Theater starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Tickets for the lecture are sold out.

The Discovery of King Tut Featuring more than 1,000 scientifically produced recreations hand-crafted by Egyptian artisans, The Discovery of King Tut recreates the awe and marvel of the moment of discovery. Visitors enter an overwhelming treasure trove to have an unbelievable glimpse into the greatest archeological discovery of the 20th century: Tutankhamun’s tomb.
