Thesis: "Wohlwollen, Mitleid, Freude und Gleichmut: Eine ideengeschichtliche Untersuchung der vier apramānas in der buddhistischen Ethik und Spiritualität von den Anfängen bis hin zum frühen Yogācāra" (Benevolence, Compassion, Joyousness and Equanimity: An analysis, from the point of view of a history of ideas, of the four apramānas in Buddhist ethics and spirituality from the beginnings up to early Yogācāra), 443 pages. 1982 - 1986 (October 28th) MA, Sehr gut (First Class), University of Hamburg, Faculty of Oriental Studies.
