What the is, How to share the Gospel, and who do we share it with?

WHAT: First of all many people do not understand the question, “what is the gospel” The Gospel as I will explain is the words we tell people to take them to the foot of the cross, so they can lay their life down, and invite God into their life to have a relationship with God through out eternity.

The Gospel literally means “The Good News” In Mark 1:14 we learn that went into Galilee, proclaiming “The Good News” of God. In verse 15 Jesus explains a little more, “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe The Good News.

The Gospel is simple: it can be spoken in two words- Repent & Believe The Gospel has a few steps that need to be spoken so people can understand What God wants What our response is and What God did for us and That we all can have a relationship with God

1. God wants to have a relationship with all people John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” NIV and Rom 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, died for us.” NKJV 2. We have all sinned, and separates us from God Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God 3. Sin has to be paid for by a unblemished death Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

4. Jesus came and lived a perfect/unblemished life, and died for us on a cross and rose again on the 3rd day proving that He is God, and now sits at the right hand of God 1 Corinthians 15:4 that he (Jesus) was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures 5. If we believe all of this, and repent from our , we can have an eternal relationship with the God of the universe. Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Pray= having a conversation with the God of the universe We can have this relationship by talking with God. We must tell God we repent/ask for forgiveness from our sins and that we believe in Jesus as the perfect sacrifice that pays for my sins Invite God into your life to be the leader of your life, knowing that you cannot lead your life in a way that you have a relationship with the God of the universe in any other way than repenting and believing in Jesus as your Lord and Savior What the Gospel is, How to share the Gospel, and who do we share it with?

HOW: There are many ways to share the gospel, but one of the most effective ways to share the story of the gospel is by starting with your story inside of Godʼs story.

When I say this, people usually think of their life testimony. “ I was born into a Christian family, accepted Christ at a young age, and was baptized shortly after that and my life has been awesome ever since.”

I hope you can sense the sarcasm.

When I say your story, you actually start by asking them their story. When they tell it to you LISTEN because the next part can be tricky without listening to them.

Your story: When they tell you their story, think of a time in your life that you felt like they do, and tell them about how you felt the same way, and how God has taken you from that place in your life, and given you hope, life, and true love. Your life is not any easier, but it is much different, because God is with you giving you Hope, real Life, and true Love. this leads to Godʼs story

Godʼs story: The Gospel

Then pray with them to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior

VERY IMPORTANT: YOU MUST INVITE THEM TO YOUR , OR START A STUDY WITH THEM. Jesus commanded us to “MAKE DISCIPLES” not converts. A is a learner. Most of us know verse Matthew 28:19- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the ,

But we stop their, and the next verse is very important. We are to teach them everything we have learned-A DISCIPLE IS A LEARNER

20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

WHO: The who is very simple If they are not a Christian then we share the gospel with them We should not be JUDGING who we should or who we should not be sharing the gospel with based on anything but this. Not by how they look, how they talk, or any other reason. We are not to judge if we are the people to share with them or not. That is the job of the Holy Spirit. Look again at the end of verse 20. The Holy Spirit will guide us in this awesome work of God that we get to be apart of.

If they are a Christian then we teach them how to share the gospel
