  • Table of Stakeholder Engagement June 2018 to February 2019
Table of stakeholder engagement June 2018 to February 2019 The table below shows stakeholder engagement with the reduction and reformulation programmes covered by Public Health England (PHE) between June 2018 and February 2019. This engagement covers, for example, attendance at the calorie reduction stakeholder forums in October 2018 and subsequent business 1:1’s, discussions on baby food reformulation, and meetings with the eating out of home sector that had not yet engaged with the reduction and reformulation programme. It is our understanding that many stakeholders are working towards achieving the aims and ambitions of the programmes but would not have necessarily had direct engagement with PHE during this timeframe. The programmes are at different stages and this is reflected in the level and focus of engagement with businesses and wider stakeholders in the table below. For example, given the sugar reduction programme is established, work on sugar reduction did not form the focus of PHE’s engagement during the time frame covered here and instead PHE concentrated on engaging stakeholders most relevant to programmes that are at an earlier stage of development (for example, calorie reduction, baby food reformulation) and/or with industry sectors where engagement is more mixed. Although every effort has been taken for this table to be comprehensive there may be some instances where this has not been possible. 1 Calorie reduction Sugar reduction Baby food reformulation Out of home business engagement1 2 Retailers Aldi Stores Limited ✓ Asda Stores Limited ✓ ✓ Co-operative Food ✓ J Sainsbury plc ✓ ✓ Lidl UK ✓ ✓ Marks & Spencer plc ✓ SPAR UK ✓ Tesco Stores Limited ✓ Waitrose ✓ Wilko ✓ WM Morrison Supermarkets plc ✓ Manufacturers Allied Bakeries ✓ Associated British Foods plc ✓ Babease Baby Plan ✓ Bear Nibbles ✓ CSM Bakery Solutions ✓ Danone ✓ Delifrance (UK) Limited ✓ Dr.

THE TIMES, THEY ARE STILL CHANGING! As a child, I remember hearing how “time flies”. And, “the older you get, the more quickly time passes”. The most humorous was, “life is like a roll of toilet paper; the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes”. How silly, I thought in my youth...time is time, it doesn’t change. But, oh, how true those words ring now! I came to Elks Aidmore in June of 1993…bold, brash, and full of new ideas.

  • The Ways of Waffle House
The Bitter Southerner Podcast: The Ways of Waffle House Chuck Reece: 00:04 It's the Bitter Southerner podcast from Georgia Public Broadcasting, and the magazine I edit, the Bitter Southerner. Welcome to Episode Five of our second season. I'm Chuck Reece, and today we take you to a place that is familiar to every Southerner. The Waffle House. 00:21 (singing) Chuck Reece: 00:35 Yeah, we even sing about The Waffle House. (singing) And every Southerner has their Waffle House memories. Many are from late nights, and they might be blurry in the brain, because Waffle House is, after all, a place where the night owls go before they crawl in bed and hide from the sun. 01:14 (singing) Chuck Reece: 01:34 Many other of our Waffle House memories are from childhood, because every Southern kid will be taken to a Waffle House at some point. It took about five seconds for us to see this phenomenon one more time, on the day we walked into Waffle House store number 1000 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, with a bag full of microphones. Samantha Naik: 01:54 You want to answer some questions about The Waffle House? Chuck Reece: 01:56 This is Samantha Naik, and her daughter, Annika. Samantha Naik: 01:59 Well, she's only four, so she's been coming for four years, and I've been coming for as long as I have memories. Chuck Reece: 02:07 Sam lives around the corner from the very first Waffle House. It's now a museum and it's just down the block from the store that we're in today.

This dedication to the community is still witnessed today, and perhaps is most evident in the company’s philosophy toward hurricane response. In this case study, we detail the company philosophy and describe their preparation for hurricane season, their response process, and the lessons they have learned to improve the process through the years.

These extraordinary young people make us proud as they travel the city to work in their corporate jobs, and as their remarkable achievements in the classroom. Their youth brings energy, creativity and a fresh perspective to our 132 corporate jobs partners. This year’s senior class will graduate in May, joining the 237 alumni who have gone before them, and 100% of them have been accepted into college. Our graduates attend some of the country’s most prestigious colleges, and this year we have our first student heading to an Ivy League college in the fall. • Agenda Item 7
Item Number: AGENDA ITEM 7 TO: CITY COUNCIL Submitted By: Douglas D. Dumhart FROM: CITY MANAGER Community Development Director Meeting Date: Subject: Conceptual Review of a Proposal for the July 19, 2011 Development of a Chase Bank at 5962 La Palma Avenue RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council conceptually approve a proposal for the development of a Chase Bank at 5962 La Palma Avenue and direct staff to draft a Zoning Code Text Amendment and Development Agreement for further consideration. SUMMARY: The City has received a letter from Studley, the real estate brokerage firm representing the property owner at 5962 La Palma Avenue, requesting that the City consider the development of a JP Morgan Chase Bank on their property. The letter is provided as Attachment 1 to this report. The site is located at the southwest corner of Valley View Street and La Palma Avenue and has been vacant for over 10 years. Late last year, the subject parcel was rezoned from Neighborhood Commercial (NC) to Planned Neighborhood Development (PND) land use designation, which prohibits financial institutions and banks. The Broker has stated that they have exhausted attempts to find end users for his client’s property that are consistent with the goals of the new PND Zone and that meet the needs of his client. They have a ground lease offer from Chase to develop a free-standing bank. The financial institution use alone does not meet the requirements in the PND Zoning District to develop the commercial corner with retail uses that are lacking in the community.
