Housed in a thin, blue presentation box titled in gilt “Presented by William Donald Schaefer Mayor City of Baltimore” on the front cover. 50 pages. Fine. The edges of the covers are worn with a few chips. The interior is clean and bright with many photographic illustrations. The dust jacket is very good minus with several open and closed tears. The jacket is dampstained along the interior and small pieces of the jacket are adhered to the boards of the book. Dust jacket is now in a protective plastic sleeve. Authors’ signatures to the front free end page. The first 15 pages are creased. Interior is otherwise clean. With index 446 pages. Baltimore: The District Board of Baltimore City, 1919. “A Photographic and Statistical History of the Operation of the Selective Service Law in the City of Baltimore, with a Compilation of State and National Statistics, Official Documents and Presidential Proclamations Relating to the Enforcement of the Law Throughout the United States.” This copy belonged to a member of the Baltimore medical board; includes related ephemera from previous owner. Very good in black leatherette with gilt title and emblem to front board. Minor wear to edges and corners; minor scuffing to boards. Interior is very clean with bright text. Includes 3 tipped-in plates and numerous photographic illustrations. Unpaginated. A nice copy.
