2020-21 TENNESSEE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL NOTES OF INTEREST TEAM • Tennessee returns three-plus starters (Rennia Davis, Rae Burrell, Tamari Key) and eight total letterwinners from last season’s 21-10 squad that was in position for an NCAA Tournament bid . Jordan Horston, who started 22 contests, could be considered a fourth returning starter due to her experience . • Despite its youthful roster, UT tied for third in the SEC standings a year ago with a 10-6 record, marking UT’s highest league finish since taking first in 2014-15 . • Second-year UT head coach Kellie Harper, one of only 11 coaches to lead three different women’s programs to NCAA Tournament berths, posted her best record and league finish in her first season with a program . • The Lady Vols return five of their top six scorers and rebounders from 2019-20, including the top four in each category . • Harper welcomes back 80 .8 percent of her scoring, 76 4. percent of rebounding, 78 6. percent of blocks, 71 0. percent of steals and 64 .8 percent of assists from last year’s squad . • The Big Orange women also return 80 6. percent of their field goals, including 73 3. percent of their three-pointers, and 84 .8 percent of free throws from a year ago . • UT welcomes five new players, including a grad . transfer point guard, grad . transfer forward/center, two freshman guard/forwards and a freshman guard .
