WHAT’S NEW ON THE MOUNTAIN • NEW HIGH ALPINE CHAIR, ADDITIONAL GLADING, TRAIL WORK AND SNOWMAKING EXPANSION AT SNOWMASS Good news! The new High Alpine Chair debuts this ski season cutting the ride time in half. In summer 2015, Aspen Skiing Company replaced and realigned the High Alpine lift on Snowmass, installing snowmaking equipment on two existing trails, and implemented additional trail and glade construction projects. The realignment of the lift and the additional trail work and glading will vastly improve skiers and riders experience in the High Alpine area on Snowmass. The new alignment will allow guests to ski from Rock Island, AMF and the Cirque without having to drop to the lower mountain to access the High Alpine area. Also, skiers and riders can now easily access the Upper Green Cabin trail without a flat traverse. Cost of the capital improvement is estimated at $8 million and the new high speed quad will decrease the ride time down to 5.6 minutes from the previous 11 minutes. SNOWMASS LOVES FAMILIES! • LOWER TEEN PRICING & NEW KIDS SKI FREE PROGRAM To encourage the next generation of winter enthusiasts, Aspen Snowmass is lowering teen rates to match that of children 12 and under as well as offering a new Kids Ski Free program. • ASPEN MOUNTAIN Master Development Plan
ASPEN MOUNTAIN Master Development 2018 PlanDraft This is the final draft of the Aspen Mt Ski Area Master Development Plan submitted to the Forest Service by Aspen Skiing Company 1/8/2018. A publication quality document will be produced with final formatting and technical editing. II. DESIGN CRITERIA Establishing design criteria is an important component in mountain planning. Following is an overview of the basic design criteria upon which the Aspen Mountain MDP is based. A. DESTINATION RESORTS One common characteristic of destination resorts is that they cater to a significant vacation market and thus offer the types of services and amenities vacationers expect. At the same time, some components of the destination resort are designed specifically with the day-use guest in mind. Additionally, the employment, housing, and community services for both full-time and second-home residents created by destination resorts all encourage the development of a vital and balanced community. This interrelationship is helpful to the long-term success of the destination resort. Destination mountain resorts can be broadly defined by the visitation they attract, which is, in most instances, either regional or national/international. Within these categories are resorts that are purpose-built and others that are within, or adjacent to, existing communities. Aspen Mountain and the adjacent City of Aspen is an example of such a resort that exists adjacent to an existing community that is rich in cultural history, and provides a destination guest with a sense of the Mountain West and the mining and ski history of Colorado. This combination of a desirable setting and history supplements the overall experience of a guest visiting Aspen Mountain, which has become a regional, national, and international destination resort.

  • A Conversation with Brett Dennen by Frank Goodman (1/2007, Puremusic.Com)
A Conversation with Brett Dennen by Frank Goodman (1/2007, Puremusic.com) He's like a new kind of human being to me, this Brett Dennen. After spending time with him this week, I feel that way even stronger than after the positively confounding impression that his new CD, There's So Much More, left on me. If he'd said that he was an alien, I could have swallowed that; it would even have made sense to me. Because I'm simply not accustomed to meeting and spending time with people that appear to be so incorruptible, so odd and yet so self-assured; so, uh, enlightened and inner-directed, if I might venture all that. At 27, no less. But he's every bit of that, and there's no telling what this West Coast youth might get up to next. His tunes are hitting the Television, via Grey's Anatomy and Men In Trees, and he's out on tour with John Mayer and Sheryl Crow. Come on, now--he's got one self- released record, and one out on Dualtone Records, an astute but small label in Nashville, better known for alt-Country releases. How do you get there so fast with that little infrastructure? His music is great, first of all. His tunes are so infectious and so deep at the same time; they're a perfect blend of those usually disparate qualities. His playing is damned convincing, and his singing is like no one else. It's a very high voice, but with that inner directedness that makes it Strong.

ANNUAL REPORT SEP 2019 - OCT 2020 INDEX INTRODUCTION INDEX OF EVENTS COMPLETED EVENTS DETAIL COMPLETED LIVE STREAM DETAIL COVID AFFECTED EVENTS DETAIL INDEX OF UPCOMING EVENTS NON PROFIT CULTURAL PARTNERS MAINTENANCE AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS REPORT FINANCIAL REPORT MARKETING REPORT COVID HANDBOOK To City Manager Jimmy Morales, The 19/20 season can be viewed as two distinct segments. The first six months represent major improvements and growth, followed by the sudden public closure and responses to the Covid health crisis. The year began with the renewal of the Rhythm Foundation’s management agreement. Experience and momentum gathered during the first management term were brought to bear and a season of widely diverse cultural offerings was undertaken. Long awaited capital improvements of the canopy covering and new seating system were completed in February. The season was in the middle of the busiest period in mid March when we closed the facility to the public in mid March due to the Covid health crisis. We immediately modified and adapted our operations using live streaming technologies to complete the Rhythm Foundations’s 32nd season. Emergency funding and support from the City, County and Federal government have been critical to sustaining the organization through this prolonged health crisis. We proactively engaged with community partners to identify funding, tech support and best practices for safe operations. Since going virtual in mid-March, we’ve broadcast sixteen (16) full length concerts as live streams to a collective audience of over 100,000 viewers from all over the world. The 20/21 season ahead is anchored by partnerships with the leading cultural presenting organizations in the South Florida, furthering our goal of establishing the North Beach Bandshell as a major performing arts facility in our region.
