There is also a school library equipped with wide range of books, suitable for all levels - from the very beginners to advanced students. Students can also use library as study room. Dormitories On the third floor of SIA there are situated dormitories with a 3 person rooms. We consider that living together helps to form spirit of cooperation and may increase motiva- tion for studying. In order to help students with food expences, school canteen provides rice, and from time to time teaching staff visits school canteen, having some disscussion with students about study process and learning. Also, with a staff room situated on the first floor, our Academy is practicing a system, where each of the students can easily ask questions any time when staff is on duty. In addition, on the fourth floor there is a room of dormito- ry-in-charge staff, living in dormitory. We aim to provide our students with the best learning environment. Taxes are an important resource used to promote a happy and stable environment for everyone. Taxes support various projects across a wide range of fields such as education, welfare, civil engineering, medical treatment, culture, environment, and industry. The two main taxes are income tax, which is levied by the national government, and inhabitant tax (prefectural and municipal tax), which is levied by both the prefectural and municipal governments. You may be exempt from paying income tax and inhabitant tax because of a taxation treaty between your country and Japan. To avoid double taxation, special exemptions have been established through bilateral taxation treaties between Japan and various countries. To check if these exemptions apply to you, please contact your country's embassy in Japan for further information. Payment of taxes must be done by the due date.     [Delivered Products & Systems] Reconstruction of Nukata Drainage Pump Station of the Musashi Canal (Outline of the Reconstruction Work and Verification of CFD Analysis) Munetoshi FUJII*, Fuminori ETO*, Naoto SEGAWA*, and Koichi YAMADA* Abstract The Nukata Drainage Pump Station is located at the end of the Musashi Canal which flows through Gyoda City and Konosu City in Saitama Prefecture. To reconstruct the deteriorated Pump Station, Pump Station No. 1 and Pump Station No. 2 were integrated, the drainage capacity was increased, and construction and civil engineering work for seismic retrofitting was done; the operation of the reconstructed pump station was officially commenced in March 2016. Based on Ebara’s technologies for pump-related facilities, we successfully completed the four-and-half-year work, including the reconstruction of mechanical and electrical facilities, the implementation of countermeasures against vortices, and civil engineering work for seismic retrofitting, while maintaining the pump station’s drainage capacity. For flow patterns in the pump sump including the upstream balancing reservoir, the results of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis and the results of the conducted test were compared and verified; vortex suppression devices studied by CFD analysis are found to be efficient enough for practical use.
