ATP2A3 / SERCA3 Control Peptide Alternate names: Calcium pump 3 ATPase, SR Ca(2+)-ATPase 3, Sarcoplasmic/ calcium ATPase 3 Catalog No.: SP5339CP Quantity: 50 µg Background: ATP dependent calcium pumps are responsible in part for the maintenance of low cytoplasmic free calcium concentrations. The ATP pumps that reside in intracellular organelles are encoded by a family of structurally related , termed the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticulum calcium (SERCA). The SERCA 2 is subject to tissue dependent processing which is responsible for the generation of SERCA 2a muscle-specific isoform expressed in type I (slow) skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle and the SERCA 2b isoform expressed in all cell types. SERCA 3 has been found to co- express with SERCA 2b in platelets, mast cells, lymphoid cells, and epithelial cells. Due to this pattern of expression it is referred to as the non-muscle form of SERCA. Uniprot ID: Q64518 NCBI: NP_001156809.1 GeneID: 53313 Format: State: Lyophilized synthetic peptide (> 95% pure). Reconstitution: Restore with 0.1 ml of distilled water. Applications: This peptide may be used for Neutralization and Control experiments with the polyclonal antibody that reacts with this product and serca3, catalognumber SP5339P. Using a solution with equal weights per unit volume of peptide and corresponding antibody will yield a solution with a large molar excess of peptide that is able to competitively bind the antibody. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. Add. Information: This antigen is an 11 amino acid (amino acids 29-39) synthetic peptide whose sequence is from the amino end of SERCA3 that is conserved in mouse, rat, and SERCA3. The sequence of this peptide is (amino to carboxy terminus): V - T - D - A - R - E - R - Y - G - P - N. Storage: Store the antigen at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
