Catatan ini didasarkan pada jenis yang tumbuh di Bukit Kapur Ciampea, Kecamatan Ciampea, Bogor Barat, Jawa Barat. Deskripsi, ekologi, ilustrasi dan pembahasan singkat mengenai keberadaan jenis ini sebagai tumbuhan ternaturalisasi di Jawa disajikan di dalam tulisan ini, termasuk kunci jenis-jenis Alstonia di Jawa. Floribunda 6(6): 207–212. — Alstonia macrophylla (Apocynaceae), a Malesian widespread species tree, here for the first time is formally reported to be naturally found in Java. The report is based on plants growing in the Ciampea limestone hills, Ciampea sub-district, west of Bogor, West Java. Description, ecology, illustration and a brief discussion regarding the occurrence state of this species as naturalized species in Java are presented. A key to Alstonia species in Java is also given. The study indicates that Alstonia scholaris may cause severe damage to the central nervous system when administered without a proper guideline. In the study, a total of 113 plant species were recorded belonged to 100 genera distributed among 54 families, in which 2 families are vascular cryptogams (Pteridophyta) and 1 family was non – vascular cryptogams (Bryophyta) and all other families are Angiosperms. Fabaceae (10 species) is a dominant family followed by Rubiaceae (8 species), Euphorbiaceae (6 species) and 4 species each from Malvaceae and Poaceae. The diversity indices namely Shannon – Weiner index, Simpson index, evenness index, etc., were analysed. Among the total species, two species were in vulnerable condition in regard to red data book. Plant Resour., 2017, 7 (2): 40-45 (http://scholarsresearchlibrary.com/archive.html) Pharmacognostic Evaluation of the Leaves of Plumeria pudica Radhika B Vaageshwari College of Pharmacy, Timmapur, Karimnagar, Telangana, India ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT The exsisting study aims the examination of pharmacognostic parameters of the leaves and leaf powder of plant Plumeria pudica belongs to the family Apocynaceae. The histological studies gives the transverse section (TS) of leaf and powder characters like xylem vessels, calcium oxlate crystals, and the quantitative microscopy like veinislet, vein termination, stomatal number, stomatal index, palisade ratio of the leaves was studied and characters of leaves were documented. Physicochemical parameters like total ash value, water soluble ash value and acid insoluble ash value were determined. The water soluble extractive, ether soluble extractive alcohol soluble extractive and ether soluble extractive were also determined. The results obtained from standardization of Leaves of Plumeria pudica reveals details of the microscopical and macroscopical characters, physicochemical characters that characterize avoiding the adultration from the genuine plant drug. The present study provides pharmacognostical, and physicochemical details of the leaves of Plumeria Pudica which are useful in laying down standardization and pharmacopoeia parameters.

Alstonia scholaris (L.) R.Br (Apocynaceae) is an evergreen tropical tree native to Indian sub-continent and South East Asia, having grayish rough bark and milky sap rich in poisonous alkaloid. It is reported to contain various iridoids, alkaloids, coumarins, flavonoids, leucoanthocyanins, reducing sugars, simple phenolics, steroids, saponins and tannins. It has been reported to possess antimicrobial, antiamoebic, antidiarrheal, antiplasmodial, hepatoprotective, immunomodulatory, anticancer, antiasthmatic, free radical scavenging, antioxidant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiulcer, antifertility and wound healing activities. In other parts of the world, it is used as a source cure against bacterial infection, malarial fever, toothache, rheumatism, snakebite, dysentery, bowl disorder, etc. Reports on the pharmacological activities of many isolated constituents from A. scholaris (L.) R.Br are lacking, which warrants further pharmacological studies. Key words: Alstonia scholaris (L.)
