Stay tuned in 2012 for news of a cool new artist signing, a series of live Blues music events and of course more of the real deal Blues Albums you've come to expect from Electro-Fi. Our 2011 Releases: HARRISON KENNEDY SHARRIE WILLIAMS HARMONICA SHAH with Jack de Keyser Shame The Devil Out Of The Dark Live At The Cove GEORGE HARMONICA JOHN MAYS MORGAN DAVIS SMITH with Colin Linden Teardrops Are Falling: I Found A Love Drive My Blues Away Live in '83 New Releases 2012: We'll be starting out 2012 in style with "BILLY BOY SINGS BIG BILL" from Chicago Blues Legend BILLY BOY ARNOLD who pays tribute to his friend and mentor BIG BILL BROONZY with an authentic and imaginative tour of the Big Bill songbook. Recorded in Chicago with some of this generation's best acoustic Blues players including ERIC NODEN (who also produced) and Guitar Maestro BILLY FLYNN. Liner Notes from BOB RIESMAN author "I Feel So Good" the critically acclaimed biography of Big Bill Broonzy. This is a truly special CD folks. Blues Guitar aficionados will also have much to celebrate with the release of "FREE WHEELIN' " from ENRICO CRIVELLARO who's 2009 Electro-Fi disc "MOJO ZONE" firmly established Enrico as a major talent to watch for. Also dynamically all instrumental, "FREE WHEELIN' " continues Enrico and his super tight band's exploration of the power and beauty of Blues Music circa 2012. "Enrico Crivellaro's playing is Funky, Tasty and Inspired with Soul Galore" - Blues Revue Enrico Crivellaro with the late Hubert Sumlin 2011 brought the sad loss of several members of Blues Music's Greatest Generation, we especially mourn the passing of Electro-Fi Artist WILLIE "Big Eyes" SMITH, PINETOP PERKINS and Guitar Legend HUBERT SUMLIN. What a gift to the world these gentlemen were. News: Harp Ace MARK HUMMEL'S 2012 Blues Harmonica Blowout will be a Tribute to Little Walter and check out the amazing Line Up ! DIANA BRAITHWAITE and CHRIS WHITELEY toured extensively in 2011 covering most of the U.K. and Canada coast to coast as well as U.S. Festivals. Don't miss any chance to catch this dynamic duo in action. Always nice to end the year with some Good News, both R&B Pioneer CURLEY BRIDGES and Juno Winner JULIAN FAUTH have been nominated for the MapleBlues Keyboard Player of the Year Award. Electro-Fi Records <noreply@electrofi.com> 2 December, 2012 2:06 PM To: Gary Collver Fall/Winter 2012 Electro-Fi Newsletter Fall/Winter 2012: While it certainly still can be a Mean Old World at times, 2012 has turned out to be an excellent year here at Electro-Fi Records, so first and foremost we want to thank you, our fellow Blues aficionados for sharing our deep love of the Blues. We couldn't begin to do what we do without all of your interest and kind support. Back in June we had 5 of our releases listed on the U.S. Roots Music Top Fifty Radio Chart, and in May we had the distinct pleasure of attending Electro-Fi artist and Chicago Blues Legend BILLY BOY ARNOLD'S induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis, during the Blues Foundation's Blues Music Awards week. Speaking of Billy Boy Arnold, he has asked us to thank you for helping to make his "Billy Boy Arnold Sings Big Bill Broonzy" release one of 2012's Traditional Blues highlights. This CD was a project close to all our hearts, and it's sure nice to see an artist from Chicago's Golden Age of the Blues step up and put out such a strong and vital album in 2012. A tip of the hat to producer ERIC NODEN, BLAISE BARTON @ Joy Ride Studio in Chicago and our pal BOB RIESMAN for his insightful liner notes, If you haven't picked up Bob's definitive Big Bill Broonzy Biography "I Feel So Good" yet, you are missing a great read.
