The Web News collection includes several thousand websites selected by LexisNexis® editors based on editorial quality, influence and value to LexisNexis customers.

And now, with recent enhancements, you can integrate Nexis Web News searches and results into LexisNexis® Publisher, so updating your organization becomes even more seamless—and less reliant on multiple feeds.

How Nexis Web News works The Nexis Web News module helps you investigate broad concepts without overwhelming you with too many results or having to account for all possible word/language variations. Advanced LexisNexis technology “spiders” several hundred URLs (encompassing several thousand websites) multiple times per day. Content is read and analyzed, after which LexisNexis proprietary metadata is applied to each unique story.

• There are no extra steps or special sources to select to add Nexis Web News to your nexis.com or Nexis Direct search.

• The Nexis Web News module is invoked automatically when you select the Easy Search Form or the News Search Form. If you select the Power Search tab, the Nexis Web News collection is available in the commonly used group sources, i.e., All News, All Languages; Major World Publications; and News, Most Recent 90 Days.

• Search with natural-language queries or enter search terms and connectors.

• Your Nexis Web News results will display under a separate tab from your nexis.com or Nexis Direct results, sorted in reverse chronological order. (See graphic.)

Nexis Web News capability is now available in LexisNexis® Publisher Now you can bring the benefits of Nexis Web News to your LexisNexis Publisher searches. It’s easy to add a Web News search to any Publisher topic. When you do, you get more results, easier access to open Web content and reduced need for multiple inbound RSS feeds at no additional cost.

Adding Nexis Web News results to a new or existing Publisher topic is as simple as creating a new search and choosing Web News as your search type. Nexis Web News supports all LexisNexis search logic, including index terms and all date parameters.

Create a Web News search:

1. Select an existing topic or create a new topic.

2. Click the Add New Search link.

3. Select Web News, name your new search, select your search options, and click Search. (See graphic at right.)

Your Nexis Web News results in LexisNexis Publisher will look something like this:
