This report also includes voter turnout statistics and a directory of state and county elected officials. The Colorado Secretary of State’s Election Division staff compiled this information from materials submitted by Colorado’s 64 county clerk and recorders. Additional information is available at Accountability in Colorado Elections (ACE), available online at https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/ACE/index.html. Without a doubt, the 2020 election year will be remembered as one of our state’s most unusual and most historic. After starting with the state’s first presidential primary in 20 years, we oversaw two major statewide elections amidst a global pandemic and the worst forest fires in Colorado’s history. Yet, despite those challenges, Colorado voters enthusiastically made their voices heard. We set state participation records in each of those three elections, with 3,291,661 ballots cast in the general election, the most for any election in Colorado history.

This abstract report contains the official statewide election results from the 2018 primary election and the 2018 general election. This report also includes voter turnout statistics and a directory of state and county elected officials. Our staff compiled this information from materials submitted by Colorado’s 64 county clerk and recorders. Additional information is available at Accountability in Colorado Elections (ACE), available online at https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/ACE/index.html. Colorado is lucky to have one of the best voting models in the country. Just over 90% of our eligible voters are registered to vote, which is the highest of any state in the country. In the 2018 general election, the turnout of registered voters increased almost 10% from the 2014 election to 64.92%, with over 2.5 million people voting in the general election. This puts Colorado second highest in the nation in voting eligible population turnout. In fact, Colorado’s voter turnout has been in the top 5 nationally in every election since 2010. The 2018 primary election was also the first year that unaffiliated voters in Colorado were able to participate in the primary election.
