Press Release Press Release 2021 Budget Statement to be delivered on Tuesday, 16 February 2021, at 3 pm Singapore’s FY2021 Budget Statement will be delivered by Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister for Finance, Mr Heng Swee Keat, on Tuesday, 16 February 2021 at 3pm in Parliament. 2. A ‘live’ webcast of the Budget Speech will be available on the Singapore Budget website (www.singaporebudget.gov.sg) and MOF Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MOFsg). The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is also partnering the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) to provide simultaneous sign language interpretation of the Budget Speech on the Singapore Budget website and Channel 5. 3. There will be real-time updates of key announcements from the Budget Speech on the MOF Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MOFsg) and on the MOF Twitter account (www.twitter.com/MOFsg). 4. The Budget Speech will be broadcast 'live' on Channel 5, CNA, CNA938, Capital 958, CNA website (www.channelnewsasia.com), CNA Youtube, CNA FB, 8 World News (www.8world.com), 8 World News Youtube, 8 World News FB and on MediaCorp’s meWATCH (www.mewatch.sg). 5. The public may visit the MOF website (www.mof.gov.sg/email-subscription) and subscribe to receive the full Budget Statement via email after it has been delivered. This service will be available for sign-ups until 2.00pm on Monday, 15 February 2021. Alternatively, members of the public may also wish to keep themselves updated on the Budget announcements by subscribing to MOF’s Telegram channel via https://t.me/MOFSpore. Feedback on FY2021 Budget Statement 6. Following the delivery of the FY2021 Budget Statement on 16 February 2021, the public can submit their views on Budget 2021 through various feedback channels. The English session will be chaired by Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Finance, while the Mandarin session will be chaired by Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry. They will be joined by REACH Chairman, Mr Tan Kiat How, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of National Development, for both sessions. 8. In addition, REACH will have physical Listening Points set up at various high traffic nodes across Singapore to gather views on Budget 2021. Details of the REACH Listening Points can be found on the REACH Budget 2021 microsite. 9. The People’s Association (PA) and its grassroots organisations will be organising post- Budget dialogues and chit-chat sessions to engage residents on Budget 2021 measures. Residents who are interested to attend can register their interest at go.gov.sg/postbudget2021. The sign-ups will be available until 2.00pm on Friday, 26 February 2021. 10. In view of the evolving COVID-19 situation, post-Budget outreach and engagement plans may be adjusted to ensure public health. IRM-2019-U-019755-Final Abstract This report provides a general map of the information environment of the Pacific Island Countries (PICs). The focus of the report is on the information environment—that is, the aggregate of individuals, organizations, and systems that shape public opinion through the dissemination of news and information—in the PICs. In this report, we provide a current understanding of how these countries and their respective populaces consume information. We map the general characteristics of the information environment in the region, highlighting trends that make the dissemination and consumption of information in the PICs particularly dynamic. We identify three factors that contribute to the dynamism of the regional information environment: disruptors, deficits, and domestic decisions. Collectively, these factors also create new opportunities for foreign actors to influence or shape the domestic information space in the PICs. Games We Play On Singapore Telly In the mid 1990s, Singapore opened its doors to the international broadcasting community. The past four years in particular have seen steady policy-driven liberalisation of its print, television and multimedia industries. This has jumpstarted the local TV production industry and stimulated terrestrial network competition. While the two terrestrial TV networks compete voraciously for a small, fragmented, multilingual and increasingly sophisticated domestic TV audience, the localisation of international TV game show formats like Millionaire and The Weakest Link appear as attractive solutions to consolidate and build the audience base. TV gameshow formats have become one of the ‘formatting’ strategies that this industry employs to develop ‘local knowledge’ and ‘position’ themselves in the battle for audience ratings and eyeballs. This article will present findings and offer new insight into the impact of TV formats on the local television production, programming and audiences in Singapore.

    Investment Strategy of the Temasek Holding JOZEF KOMORNIK Faculty of Management, Comenius University, Bratislava MARTIN VOZAR Faculty of Management, Comenius University, Bratislava Abstract: Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) are generally known as investment funds owned by national governments and financed by the country's foreign currency reserves (dollar, euro, yen), often through their central banks or via direct investments. Usually the funds are invested in the proceeds of non-renewable natural resources or a higher return alternative to holding foreign currency. SWFs are currently managing between USD 3 and 4 trillion. The Government of Singapore owns two independent SWFs. The first, Temasek Holdings, was founded in 1974 to manage part of the Government’s revenues. This paper analyses the investment strategy of the Temasek Holding as one of the most successful SWF. Present turbulent times create a big pressure on healthy investment strategy of the SWFs. But total shareholder return of the Temasek Holding since its inception in 1974 has been a healthy 17% compounded annually. Temasek is managed on commercial principles to create and deliver sustainable long-term value for its stakeholders. It is an active shareholder and aims to achieve sustainable returns by engaging the boards and management of its portfolio companies to foster a culture of integrity, excellence and meritocracy, maintain a clear focus on core competence, customer fulfilment, consistent value creation, and cultivate high calibre board and management leadership. This paper will provide answers on a questions like: who is the Temasek Holding, what is its investment strategy and why is Temasek so successful story? Reviewed programmes identified to be sensitive and assessed broadcasters' overall exercise of censorship. d. Reviewed the revised Advertising and Programming codes for Radio and the revised Programme code for Free-To-Air TV. e. Made programming recommendations to broadcasters and SBA ( now MDA ) 1 PAC'S OBSERVATIONS AND EVALUATION ON BROADCAST PROGRAMMES 3 Since the introduction of SPH MediaWorks Ltd as the second broadcaster in Singapore, TV viewers now have a total of seven Free-To-Air (FTA) TV channels to choose from.

Sheila on 7 clinched the Best Band award for their latest hit, Film Favorit. Singapore’s powerhouse vocalist Sufi Rashid and Malaysia’s pop idol Khai Bahar won two awards each. Khai Bahar also reigned as APM’s Most Popular Artiste two years in a row and took home the Social Media Icon award that was previously won by Ayda Jebat. This year, Ayda clinched Best Song (Malaysia) for her latest single, Mata. Brunei’s rising star, Jaz, Indonesia’s trio GAC, Sara Fajira, Adrian Khalif as well as Malaysia’s Haqiem Rusli and Singapore’s Farhan Shah are among those who won their first APM awards last night. Now into its 17th edition, this year’s APM event also paid tribute to Indonesia’s Queen of Pop, Rossa, who received the Planet Muzik Award that celebrates performers who have made outstanding contributions of artistic significance to the field of recording. Widely recognised as the one of the most influential Indonesian songstresses of all time, Sri Rossa Roslaina Handiyani, also known as Te’ Ocha or Dato’ Rossa, released her best-selling albums not only in Indonesia, but also in Southeast Asia and Japan.
