Please read this welcome letter carefully in order to stay updated on important deadlines for the upcoming semester. We are looking forward to seeing you in Copenhagen. Programme Structure and Credit Transfer The programme consists of 120 ects: 1) 3 mandatory courses Microeconomics III (7,5 ects), Macroeconomics III (7,5 ects) and Economet- rics II (7,5 ects). These must be passed within the first year of enrolment. 2) 2 seminars (2 x 7,5 ects) 3) Elective courses 4) Thesis (30 ects) You may transfer up to 60 ECTS from other study programs. This also pertains to previous studies as long as these courses do not form part of your qualifica- tions for this master programme. If you are in doubt, please contact us. Mandatory courses: Micro III, Macro III and Econometrics II We will automatically register you for the mandatory courses on the first semester. If you have already passed courses equivalient to these courses, you can be exempted from them and register for electives instead. You apply for an exemption by sending the course descriptions and syllabus of your overlapping courses to [email protected]. You can read the exact contents of Micro III, Macro III and Econometrics II in the course descrip- tions on www.kurser.ku.dk. Specialisation in finance If you want to specialise in finance, you must choose finance-related courses worth 45 ECTS. Furthermore, at least 1 seminar must be finance-related and so too must your thesis. All finance-related courses and seminars are marked with an “F“ in the course catalogue. Course registration deadline: 26 July FAKULTETSNAVN Course registration Course registration for new international students runs till 26 July 2020. You must register for elective courses in our online registration form on the website. We will automatically register you for the mandatory courses Microeconomics III, Macroeconomics III and Econometrics II on the first semester. If you have already passed courses equivalent to these courses, you can apply for an exemption (cf. the above paragraph). You register online by following the step by step guide on our website. Avoid clashing lectures, classes and exam dates! Be care- ful to check the schedules in the course descriptions on www.kurser.ku.dk. In case of no course vacancies, the Study Administra- tion will contact you for alternative course choices. You will be able to view your courses and exams in the Self Service in KUnet just before the semester begins. Post- registration: 12 August till 25 August 4 Strategiplan 2008-2012 FAKULTETSNAVN Post-registration period If you need to edit or change your course registrations after 26 July, you can do so yourself in the Self Service during the post-registration period between 12 and 25 August 2020. After 25 August you can change your courses until 6 September by contacting the Study Administration on [email protected]. Important: After 6 September, your courses are bind- ing, that is, you must pass them during the course of your programme. Exams Almost all our exams are electronic and digital written exams. You can find an overview of all exams and exam types in KUnet once you have gained access. Avoid clashing exam dates. Make sure to check for clashing exam dates before you register for courses. We do not change your exam date or exam form due to overlapping schedules. Strategiplan 2008-2012 5 FAKULTETSNAVN Study Activity Requirements In order to comply with the rules of Study Activity you must abide by the below rules: 1) You must pass a minimum of 45 ECTS credits each academic year. We recommend you register for 30 ECTS credits each semester to reach this minimum criteria. 2) You must not exceed the maximum time-frame of 3 years to complete your full master degree. 3) You must pass the courses you have registered for. All course registrations are binding once the post regis- tration period ends. You can only edit your course and exam registrations during the course registration periods. 4) All students are automatically signed up for the first ordinary exam attempt. You are free to unregister your- self, but only during the registration periods. Open house event at the exam location If you are not familar with written digital exams - that is, using an electronic pen and windows computer, we recommend you to join the Open House event at the exam location. A number of Open House events will take place dur- ing the semester. You can find the dates for the Open House events on the student intranet once you have gaines access. 6 Strategiplan 2008-2012 The Student Intranet - KUnet KUnet is the intranet for students enrolled at the Uni- versity of Copenhagen. In KUnet you find: Your student email account Once enrolled, we no longer contact you on your pri- vate email - only on your student email in KUnet. So remember so redirect your mail from the student email to your private one, if you want to stay updated. Absalon The e-based learning system that gives you access to all course material and slides from our lectures. All com- munication with teachers takes place in Absalon. Your study pages All rules, regulations, procedures and study related information is described in detail on your study pages in KUnet. If you have any questions - consult the study pages in KUnet first thing. You can log on www.kunet.dk once you have received a student ID and created a password. Join the open house event at the exam location FAKULTETSNAVN Orientation Day We recommend that you attend the Orientation Day on 27 August. Here you will get a chance to meet and have a chat with students, professors and administrative staff members at the Department of Economics. The program for the Orientation Day will be posted later on the Faculty website for new master students - in the right hand menu.
