CAMPING STRICTLY NO ADMITTANCE BEFORE 12 NOON FRIDAY. Campers must leave by Sunday evening. Good camping and carparking available. Rugging of horses overnight is strongly recommended. Waterproof gear essential. Horses to be yarded to the satisfaction of the Ground Committee. Size of yards to be kept to a minimum.

STALLIONS All stallions attending the Get Together must be approved by the TMCA. Please contact Secretary Danza Hardwicke on above number for application form and details. Please refer to rule for stallion yards while attending the get together.

THE T.M.C.A. COMMITTEE ADVISES THAT THE FOLLOWING MUST BE OBSERVED:

• NO GLASS policy will be enforced. Vehicles will be checked upon entry. • Alcohol in glass containers will be confiscated on entry or at camps. • NO irresponsible, careless or dangerous riding will be tolerated. • All riders must wear an approved equestrian helmet at all times when mounted. No helmet, no ride. • Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times unless competing in high jump. • Rubbish to be taken home in bags provided. • NO vehicle movement after 8 pm (this will be enforced by security). • NO 2 or 4 wheel motorbikes permitted on site unless authorised by TMCA. • No Fires (includes contained). • Drunken disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated. Anyone displaying antisocial behaviour will be removed from the venue by new security personnel or legally detained until police arrive, you will also be issued a fine. • NO horse can be ridden in both senior race and junior stock horse race. SUNDAY - TRAIL RIDES

7.30 – 9.00 am Registrations for the rides taken at the TMCA caravan. All riders must be registered. 9.00 – 9.30 am Marshalling. Riders to wear an approved equestrian helmet and be equipped with tethering gear. Horses required to be moderately fit and recommended recently shod or booted. No dogs or alcohol on rides. No double dinking or leading of unmounted horses. Horses must be fitted with a saddle. 10.00 am Main trail ride departs. B.Y.O. lunch or ordered at the Lions food van by Saturday evening with these delivered to the lunch stop. 3:00pm Main trail ride returns. 10.15am Leading rein trail ride departs. Held over easy terrain of approximately 1 hour duration.

3 - -3 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR EVENTS

1. Entrants competing in Championship, Stock Horse Races and Teams Relay will be issued a wrist band on completion of course walk. >> NO WRISTBAND, NO START 2. Equestrian helmets compulsory in all events (except whip cracking). >> NO HELMET, NO START 3. No halters or headstalls to be used in races as the main horse control. 4. One run per horse each event, excluding the barrel & billy can races 5. Adult & Child Races – horse/pony must be of appropriate size for adult 6. The TMCA reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel all or any portion of this program as it may deem fit. 7. The decision of the Judge or Judges will be final. No correspondence will be entered into. 8. Any competitor who wishes to lodge a complaint must lodge it within half an hour of the incident taking place. 9. Offensive language or abuse of horses will lead to automatic disqualification. 10. Queries can be directed to any TMCA committee member. 11. The Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemen’s Assoc. does not assume liability for accident resulting in death or injury to competitors or their property, each contestant by act of entry or participation waives all claims for death, injury, loss or damage that they, their helpers, their stock or property may sustain. 12. Due to the rapid rise in horse and animal welfare horses may be paraded and inspected by a veterinarian prior to any participation.

EVENT 2. THE LEWIS LEE MEMORIAL JUNIOR HANDY STOCK HORSE. For riders under 18 years on the day of the event on horses not competing in Championship Event. Marks awarded for every phase attempted. Format as for Championship Event. Time limit of five (5) minutes to apply. $3

EVENT 3. TANIA BURBURY LEATHERWORK LEAD REIN HANDY STOCK HORSE. For riders 8 years and under. Children navigate modified course on leading rein, hobbles not to be used on the horse/pony but may be correctly fitted on props provided. Time limit will apply. Entrants cannot compete in leading rein if they are also competing in the junior handy stock horse or if they have competed as a junior in previous years . $3

EVENT 15. SCOOT BOOTS JUVENILE STOCK HORSE RACE. For entrants under 14 years on horses not competing in Championship. Conducted on similar lines as Event 11. No requirement to run & pick up oilskin coat. Stock saddle not compulsory. $5

EVENT 16. PHILIP DAVEY SHEET METAL TEAMS RELAY RACE. Teams of three horses and four riders. Event to be run as a relay over 4 legs. All riders to be over the age of ten years. Stock saddle compulsory. Riders & horses may compete in 1 team only. Team name only to be submitted at the time of entry. First Leg First competitor starts unmounted. Leading his horse he runs 20 metres to full- length oilskin coat, (must be lined), puts it on, mounts and races to calf. At calf, he dismounts, picks it up, remounts and races to second rider waiting at Point A (no log jumps). Second Leg Second rider takes calf and races to Point B over log jumps and passes calf to third rider. Third Leg Third rider, mounted bareback, takes calf and races to point C where fourth rider is waiting to be picked up (no log jumps). Fourth Leg Together they race mounted and still carrying calf to finish line (no log jumps). $20 per team

EVENT 17. IAN ATKINS & GUNNY MEMORIAL SENIOR WALKING RACE. For riders 18 years and over. To be held over a course of approximately 1.5 km of undulating terrain. Rules: If the horse breaks, a circle must be turned and a walk re-established. $5

EVENT 18. REG DIXON MEMORIAL JUNIOR WALKING RACE. For riders under 14 - 17 years. Rules as for Event 15. $3

The Page Transport Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemen's Association Championship and Spreyton Vet Clinic Junior Championship have three phases with A & B running concurrently. PHASE A. - Handy Stock Horse Competitor to carry a simulated calf, cross a bridge, hobble horse, open gate & stand cracking a whip. Time limit of four (4) minutes. Guide lines available on entry. PHASE B. – Cattle Handling Involves working cattle around the prescribed course and yarding them to finish. Running martingales permitted. PHASE C. – Whip Crack A course of 10 targets to be set in area, the horse a rider are to complete the course in number order and crack targets. This will be a timed event and points for each target includes 30 second freestyle on horseback. Seniors must canter junior option of trot/canter. PHASE D. - Stock Horse Race Approximately 2 kilometres in length. Course over undulating terrain with logs and water to be jumped. Competitors start unmounted. On starting they run, leading horse approximately 10 metres to full length oilskin coat, (must be lined), put it on, mount and race over course to 10 - -10 simulated calves. They dismount, pick up calf, mount and continue the race. Approx half way around the calf is to be placed in the designated area. Prior to completing the race the rider must dismount in the designated area, remove oilskin coat and complete the race leading their horse. Each competitor in each heat will be timed individually with an optimum time on the course. Time will be factored at the horse travelling at 450 metres per minute ( a controlled gallop ) Penalty points for faster than optimum time with a 10 second buffer will be incurred. Each phase of the competition will be scored and the best overall combined score will win the Championship. In the event of points being equal, there will be a count back to Cattle Handling, Handy Stock Horse, whipcracking and Stock Horse Race in that order. • Any competitor may be eliminated from any phase at any time by presiding judge, which in turn eliminates entrant from entire championship. • Entry restricted to financial members of the T.M.C.A. • Membership form can be completed and fee paid with entry. • Stock saddle compulsory. The Ironman challenge will be held in the main arena in the evening.

Teams will consist of 3 entrants (all ages and genders compete as equal). This year we have introduced the fastest time for a team under 13 years old.

The challenge will be comprised of various farm job related tasks and run in a timed relay format.

Commencing at 12.30 pm Saturday EVENT 20. ROY DAVIES MEMORIAL NOVICE STOCKMAN’S WHIPCRACK SPONSORED BY BLACK COLT CLOTHING For entrants who have never won a stockman’s whip crack event. To be run on horseback over a horse-shoe shaped course with a maximum of 12 papers to be cut. Riders to ride at any pace on inside of targets only. Targets are to be placed on a course at intervals at the discretion of the steward & judges. This will be a timed event. Points awarded for cut papers within the time limit. One horse, one run. Entrants can compete on more than one horse. $10 EVENT 21. BASIL STEERS MEMORIAL STOCKMAN’S WHIPCRACK SPONSORED BY KENT SADDLERY To be conducted on same lines as event 20, except entrants must canter around the course.
