(Hons.) in Anthropology - Batch of 2021 Verified Reviewed on 5 Aug 2021 4.2 Placements 2 Infrastructure 4 Faculty & Course Curriculum 5 Crowd & Campus Life 5 I am satisfied with college life. Placements: At the UG level, there are no placements for students. However, people from employment exchange comes to visit our college and conduct a seminar with students. I do not have an idea about the salary packages offered in our college. Companies do not visit our college to hire students. Infrastructure: The department of Anthropology at Bidhannagar College is one of the best in the entire West Bengal. The infrastructure of our college is very good. Our college provides Wi-Fi, clean classrooms and a huge library. The food served in the college canteen is quite good. Medical facilities are also very good in case of emergencies. There is a huge ground for football behind the college building. Faculty: Professors in our department are very good and helpful. Their methods of teaching made the subject way more interesting. This course is one of the most important courses necessary for the research and development sector, but our country does not give any attention to that sector. Semester exams are challenging. The pass percentage is 40%. A Amit Koley | M.Sc. in Chemistry - Batch of 2019 Verified Reviewed on 19 Jun 2018 3.4 Placements 1 Infrastructure 4 Faculty & Course Curriculum 4 Crowd & Campus Life 3 Absolutely satisfied with the department of chemistry. Infrastructure & faculty are really good. Placements: There is no placement cell available in our college. No companies hasn't visited yet offering jobs to us. Though, our chemistry department organised some career & job councelling seminars on job opportunities after M.Sc. In chemistry, but they weren't good enough & pretty boring. No internship is available for meritorious students from college authority. So, if you are searching for a college that have placement facility after M.Sc. In chemistry, our college isn't good for it. Infrastructure: Free Wi-Fi isn't available in our college campus. Chemistry laboratory are good but lab maintainers are lazy. Various kinds of lab equipments & reagents are available in our laboratory. Classrooms aren't clean enough & most of the benches are broken. Medical facilities are good. The library has huge collections of various kinds of books & librarians are also very helpful. The departmental library is also very helpful. The seminar hall (with AC) is also pretty big with projectors & speakers. Hostel facility isn't available in our college. The canteen here is closed for most of the days. Foods are costly & the quality is also bad. The college has 2 big playgrounds but both of them remain unused most of the time. The elevators are available only in the new building. NIELIT computer centre is available in our college. The centre provides quality computer training to students. NEET coaching centre is available but it remains unused. Separate bathrooms for Boys & girls are also very clean. Faculty: Our chemistry department has 14 (8 organic,5 inorganic & 1 physical) permanent & 3 (all physical) part-time professors. All of them are well educated & very helpful & kind to Disclaimer: This PDF is auto-generated based on the information available on Shiksha as on 23-Sep-2021. students. The teaching quality is pretty good for most of the professors. Sometimes, they used projectors to teach us in the classroom. There are more students than professors. We didn't get industry exposure which isn't good. Most of the professors are well experienced, friendly & always available for help. Overall, the course curriculum is very useful. Other: Every year Annual sports events, Cricket & football matches were organised by the students union. Every year, a musical & dance event called "DHUN" is also organised by students union. We also celebrate Holi, Independence day, Saraswati Puja together in our college. The campus crowd is good. Campus surroundings are also very refreshing. Wi-Fi connectivity is unavailable. The students union is very helpful & never failed to entertain us. Anonymous | B.Sc. (Hons.) in Anthropology - Batch of 2021 Verified Reviewed on 7 Jul 2021 3.0 Placements 1 Infrastructure 3 Faculty & Course Curriculum 3 Crowd & Campus Life 3 Overall it is an average college, and it depends on the persons to adjust here. Placements: No placement programs are organised by the college for B.Sc Anthropology Hons. Neither placements programs are organised for the current batches as it is an academic course and not a professional course. There is no professional course offered by the college therefore no placement programs are organised. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is manageable with fine classrooms and labs. The canteen is not good but it is under the process of renovation since 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic situation, and I don't know how much has it changed since then. No hostel facility is provided. It has a very small gym which is mostly used by boys only. The library is also fine it's not that big or has a large variety of books. The grounds are pretty huge but are not maintained much for usage. The entire college infrastructure is slowly changing to better under the government. Faculty: Teachers are very much helpful. They provide all the notes and are always ready to help. The only drawback is the whole environment of the college is more Bengali-oriented so most of the teachers also talk in Bengali which is difficult for the non-Bengali student to adjust to. All the faculty members are highly qualified, and most of them in the anthropology department are holding a doctorate. Exams held are not much difficult, and teachers help students accordingly so that the students score well in the exams. The pass percentage is 30%. The only drawback which I faced was that due to lack of management the students are not provided the paper or generic subject they select for themselves. Other: I chose this course because it is a holistic subject, and provides many options to choose for majors from like forensic, archeology, social anthropologist, etc. The best thing Disclaimer: This PDF is auto-generated based on the information available on Shiksha as on 23-Sep-2021. about the course is one who studies it may get a very different perspective about the world. The only thing I wish the college improves about the course is its management and hire more teachers for physical anthropology. The college organises many events for extracurricular activities and festivals, it takes part in intercollege competitions. Every year, a college fest is organised. The crowd here is very friendly if one is not an introvert he/she can make good connections. The campus is at a very good location near city center 1. S Sundar Gopal Biswas | B.A. (Hons.) in Bengali - Batch of 2022 Verified Reviewed on 19 Feb 2021 3.6 Placements 5 Infrastructure 3 Faculty & Course Curriculum 3 Crowd & Campus Life 3 The lift facility, parking lot and security system are excellent. Placements: A total of 26-27 students were there in my course. The lowest salary offered was 1200 per month, and the highest was Rs. 1800 per month, and the average package was maybe 1500 per month. Becoming a teacher is the top role for me. I am not sure about the percentage of students who got internships. I don't know about the top recruiting companies. Infrastructure: There are labs, libraries and canteen facilities available in our college. As per my opinion, the library, gardens, and labs are excellent in our college, and our college has significant grounds for playing cricket, football etc. The classrooms are good. The auditorium, study rooms and also bathrooms are good. Wi-Fi facility is outstanding. Medical facilities are good like in other colleges, as it is essential for every college. Faculty: Like in other colleges, our teachers and professors also conducted online classes for upcoming online exams to reduce students' problems at the time of lockdown. If students can focus on their studies properly, they can become more successful in life. Other: I chose to go with Bengal Honours. It has great teachers. Ananya Dasgupta | B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics - Batch of 2021 Verified Reviewed on 9 Apr 2021 4.0 Placements 4 Infrastructure 5 Faculty & Course Curriculum 3 Crowd & Campus Life 4 I chose this college because it is a government college, and its fee structure is very low. Placements: Around 30% of students got placed in my course. There are no placements in the degree course. I don't know about the percentage of students who got internships from the college. I can go for higher education like Master's and then PhD.
