MCA 700 Discography by David Edwards, Mike Callahan & Patrice Eyries © 2018 by Mike Callahan MCA-700 Midline/Reissue Series: By the time the reissue series reached MCA-700, most of the ABC reissues had been accomplished in the MCA 500-600s. MCA decided that when full price albums were converted to midline prices, the albums needed a new number altogether rather than just making the administrative change. In this series, we get reissues of many MCA albums that were only one to three years old, as well as a lot of Decca reissues. Rather than pay the price for new covers and labels, most of these were just stamped with the new numbers in gold ink on the front covers, with the same jackets and labels with the old catalog numbers. Devin-Devin... J-And Joe. S-And once again, we've got a mystery. D-What? J-Uh huh. S-Yeah. We do. J-It's a pretty scary one, too. S-It, well, no it isn't, but you know what the thing is? I had so much fun last week, or not last week, last time that I hosted doing a wrestling episode, that I decided we'd do another one. D-It seems like it's been a million years since that, we did that episode. S-It really does. D-Yeah. S-Cause in our world, it's been a month. D-At least, at least. J-Uh huh. D and S-Yeah. J-Three weeks. S-Ok, well we're not actually going to do a wrestling story. D-Well, a little bit. S-Kinda. It's kind of, kind of a wrestling story. D-Yeah. S-We are, this week, for anyone for who, as Devin would say, didn't read the episode title, going to be talking about Mr. Andy Kaufman. J-Yeah. S-And you might say, “Well, why?” Well, the mystery is is Andy Kaufman really dead or not? D-Dun dun dun! S-Cause he's one of those people who has had sightings of him for years.

Yes, I think that it probably was, although the 2002 album Heathen gives it a run for its money, but with the benefit of hindsight, it still lacked the hallmarks of a classic David Bowie album, mainly because it didn't break new ground. Between 1969 and 1980 Bowie released thirteen studio albums which basically defined the decade. With the possible exception of Lodger which was basically bollocks, IMHO, each of these albums not only broke new ground, but was a significant advance upon the one that came before it. Bowie defined the concept of the rock star as artist, and where he led many others followed. Each of his stylistic changes spawned a hundred imitators. In the wake of Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane came dozens of glam bands, most of them totally missing the point, and schoolboys across the United My dear friends, Kingdom sported Ziggy haircuts. His plastic soul period not only persuaded his loyal legions that Luther Vandross was where it was at, but also meant that the 2016 is only a couple of weeks old, but we already high street outfitters were full of Oxford Bags and have the first major cultural event of the year.

  • KRAUTROCK - LSD, APO, Ohm & Om - (SWR2 / 2010) (Von Lutz Neitzert)

CHUCK BURGI Drums & Percussion www.chuckburgi.com Chuck Burgi has been performing and recording internationally since teaming up with jazz- rock guitarist Al Di Meola for his first solo venture, theElegant Gypsy Tour. This opportunity led to his joining the English fusion group Brand-X. As a member of Brand-X, he replaced Phil Collins and recorded and toured for the classic album Masques. Returning to his rock and pop roots, Chuck joined Hall and Oates and recorded two platinum albums and did two world tours with the hit writing duo. Subsequent albums with Michael Bolton, Diana Ross, Balance and Bon Jovi followed. He next joined forces with Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, recording two albums and hitting the road for another two world tours. After Rainbow, Chuck toured and recorded with various artists including Joe Lynn Turner, Glen Burtnick and the powerhouse vocalist Meat Loaf. Chuck toured extensively with Meat Loaf and recorded the Live at Wembley album. Directly after Meat Loaf, Chuck began working with Blue Oyster Cult, during which time he recorded the Cult Classics and Heaven Forbid albums, and began playing on national TV commercials. After Blue Oyster Cult, he was once again reunited with Ritchie Blackmore for sold out tours of Europe, South America and Japan for the album Stranger in Us All. In 2001, Chuck completed a three-year commitment to the Latin pop sensation Enrique Iglesias. Beginning with an extensive world tour for the album Vivir, he returned as musical director for the Cosas del Amour world tour and finished with a dense schedule of TV shows and concerts promoting Enrique’s first English album, Enrique.
