Dave is a member of our Corporate group with a practice focused on corporate and commercial law. Dave brings with him a wealth of experience in both the legal and political field. In addition to his practice in law, Dave was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta representing the constituency of Edmonton-Whitemud as a Progressive Conservative. In 2014, Hancock served as the 15th Premier of Alberta. During his time in office Dave served as Minister of Intergovernmental an Aboriginal Affairs, Justice (Attorney General and Solicitor General), Advanced Education, Health and Wellness, Education, Human Services, Innovation and Advance Education. Throughout that time he served on Agenda & Priorities and Treasury Board committees of Executive Council , as vice chair or chair of the Legislation Review Committee and as Government House Leader. Dave also served on the University Hospital Board and was board champion of the process reengineering project; and served as Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Special Loans Committee of the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation during a period of strengthening and renewal of Alberta's Credit Union system. Based in the Firm’s Edmonton office, Bob offers a wealth of experience in business, research, public affairs, and issues and crisis management, allowing him to provide clients with the high-caliber service they need. He advises clients on strategic planning and development, public policy, risk analysis, governance, and government relations in Canada and internationally. Bob holds a series of prestigious fellowships and affiliations including a Senior Fellowship at the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies; a Research Fellowship at the University of Calgary’s Centre for Military, Security and Strategic Studies; and a Research Fellowship at the University of Alberta’s European Union Centre for Excellence. Prior to joining Dentons, Bob held senior-level positions in a Canadian public policy think-tank and in education policy, and served as a faculty member at both the University of Alberta and Brock University. He has published a number of books, volumes, journal articles and op eds on various issues of public policy and politics, and is a frequent media commentator for local, provincial, national and international media. 1 .
