LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON Yearlings that are ‘the spit’ of their sire are usually well received at the ring, and such resemblance did no harm to a colt by Oasis Dream (Lot 1108) who was sold for 310,000gns. Few would have recognised this similarity with greater accuracy than the team at Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farm, which is home to Oasis Dream, and it was a member of that famous racing and breeding operation who bought the look-alike yearling. CRACKING RESULTS FOR CREGG A first-and-last day double involved two superb results for John and Denis Noonan’s Cregg House Stud in Fermoy, County Cork. On Monday the father-and-son team sold a Mehmas colt to Blandford Bloodstock’s Tom Goff for 320,000gns, and yesterday they gained 300,000gns for a son of Kodiac (Lot 1270), who went into Anthony Stroud’s Stroud Coleman locker. Stroud’s purchase was produced by Supreme Occasion (Teofilo), a half-sister to the Classic-placed Decado (Danehill Dancer) and from the family of Gr.2 winner and sire Fracas. The Noonans, who keep some 15 mares, lease the dual winner Supreme Occasion, an eight-year-old who is in foal to Invincible Army. John Noonan said: “It’s a lovely feeling, but I was hoping for a good week because these two colts were my bankers.
