The 31st annual tournament of the Woman’s International Bowling Congress, Inc., was held at the B Riverview Alleys in Columbus, Ohio, April 21 to May 31, with a record-breaking entry of 2,600 teams, 3,725 doubles, and 7,450 4 singles. The prize list, largest in history, totaled $83,670. The Gears by Enterprise team of Detroit won the team event with a 2,786 score. Members of his team included Dorothy Brichta, Lois McAllister, Teddy McLaughlin, Marie Shamlock, and Agnes Eckstrom. They won medals and $500. Estelle Svboda and Ann Elysavich, Chicago, won the doubles title, worth $250 and medals, C with a score of 1,220. Clara Mataya, St. Louis, won $250 and a medal for her 658 score, high in the singles.
