Following a Case Management Conference in late 2020 the Planning Inspector confirmed a further postponement of the Inquiry until May 2021. The Public Inquiry commenced on the new date of 11th May 2021 and (at the time of printing of this edition of Open Door) was expected to last for up to 9 days, ending on or before 25th May 2021. West Bletchley Council has, together with Newton Longville Parish Council, appointed experts to present its objection to this application at the Public Inquiry. KEECH HOSPICE CARE - GRANT AWARDED CHILDREN’S COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES Keech Hospice Care would like to thank West Bletchley Council for supporting our specialist care services for children with life-limiting conditions. Grants such as yours make a significant impact and enable us to continue making the difference when it matters the most. Your generous donation of £450 in April 2020 to our Children’s Community Support Services contributed to us continuing to provide this specialist care to those who need it. We are extremely grateful for all your support. I would like to take this opportunity to update you on what our charity is doing during this worrying time to make sure that we can continue to care for our seriously ill children and adults, and their families. Our amazing care teams are continuing to care for children and adults at the end of their lives, both at the hospice itself and out in our communities. Since March, some support for children and their families has been out in the community and virtually. We have found that some parents have been quite anxious to let our nurses into their homes as it is their safe bubble. Therefore, nurses have been providing support remotely whilst sitting in their car on the family’s drive, or more recently in their gardens and even via zoom from the hospice. Our dedicated nurses remain at the end of our 24-hour advice lines for both child and adult patients, so families can continue to get the best care and support they need, when they need it. Our priority now is the same as our purpose at all times: to care for our patients and support their families when they need us: making the difference when it matters the most. Covid-19 is continuing to provide many challenges to us as an organisation and we have adapted our care services considerably since the initial outbreak in March. I have no doubt that our services will continue to adapt and change as we move into the winter and face new challenges. However, our priority now is the same as our purpose at all times: to care for our patients and support their families when they need us: making the difference when it matters the most.

  • Members and Parish/Neighbourhood Councils RAIL UPDATE
ITEM 1 TRANSPORT COMMITTEE NEWS 07 MARCH 2000 This report may be of interest to: All Members and Parish/Neighbourhood Councils RAIL UPDATE Accountable Officer: John Inman Author: Stephen Mortimer 1. Purpose 1.1 To advise the Committee of developments relating to Milton Keynes’ rail services. 2. Summary 2.1 West Coast Main Line Modernisation and Upgrade is now in the active planning stage. It will result in faster and more frequent train services between Milton Keynes Central and London, and between Milton Keynes Central and points north. Bletchley and Wolverton will also have improved services to London. 2.2 Funding for East-West Rail is now being sought from the Shadow Strategic Rail Authority (SSRA) for the western end of the line (Oxford-Bedford). Though the SSRA have permitted a bid only for a 60 m.p.h. single-track railway, excluding the Aylesbury branch and upgrade of the Marston Vale (Bedford-Bletchley) line, other Railtrack investment and possible developer contributions (yet to be investigated) may allow these elements to be included, as well as perhaps a 90 m.p.h. double- track railway. As this part of East-West Rail already exists, no form of planning permission is required; however, Transport and Works Act procedures are to be started to build the missing parts of the eastern end of the line. 2.3 New trains were introduced on the Marston Vale line, Autumn 1999. A study of the passenger accessibility of Marston Vale stations identified various desirable improvements, for which a contribution of £10,000 is required from this Council.

  • Alternative Proposals for the Future Boundaries of Bletchley
The Review Officer (Milton Keynes) Layden House 76-86 Turnmill Street London EC1M 5LG 12 October 2012. Sent by e mail to [email protected] Dear Sir/Madam, Alternative proposals for the future Boundaries of Bletchley. We write to you as chair and vice chair of We st Bletchley parish council. We are writing in a personal capacity as the parish council was not able to discuss the boundaries. We are concerned that the proposals agreed by Milton Keynes Council will undermine the long term viability and cohesion of the Bletchley area and the two parish councils that serve the area. We note that Bletchley & F enny Town Council has taken a v iew that it wants to see its boundaries respected in any war ding proposal. We share that view and believe that both Bletchley parish council areas should be retained with no par ish wards divided off. We are aware that what the B&F town council seek cannot be secured within paris h boundaries. Both its objective and our approach can be secured within the two parish boundaries. Aims We would like to see ward boundaries that: . Respect the existing collective boundaries of the two parish councils . Keep communities together whilst achieving electoral parity. Retain long standing community relationships . Address the linking of areas that are a long way apart. 1 Our objections to the Council proposals. Milton Key nes Counc il agreed it s submission on the 9 October. Their pro posals from Milton Keynes Council remove a ke y area within West Bletchley, the Scot s estate.

  • Historic Landscape Charaterisation
Appendix 6 Analysis – Enclosure Regular Enclosures in Hoggeston parish, Vale of Aylesbury Buckinghamshire Historic Landscape Characterisation Appendix 6 Introduction Enclosed land comprises the most extensive HLC type representing over 72% of the land total. Its main use is for agriculture, a large proportion being for the pasturing of sheep and cattle. The type has a significant impact on aspects of the social and cultural life of the county, where both its form and maintenance are defining characteristics of the aesthetic appeal of the landscape, and is by turn a major influence upon matters such as tourism and planning. Pre 18th Century Enclosure accounts for 32.13% of enclosed land in Buckinghamshire, Parliamentary Enclosure for 28% and Modern Enclosure for 15%. Both the Pre 18th Century (Irregular Enclosure) and Post-Medieval Enclosure types have changed little in the last 150 years, especially when compared with the Modern Enclosure type. Most 20th Century Enclosure is an alteration of a previously enclosed landscape (greatly changed) with just 19% of hectares newly enclosed since the nineteenth century. The HLC mapping (see diagram below) suggests that most of the enclosed landscape has remained largely unchanged for at least 150 years, if not for considerably longer. However, the HLC process did not evaluate the continuing presence of smaller landscape features, such as barns and trees, or the composition of boundary type, boundary size, hedgerows and routeways. Nor did it assess the intrusive features of modern life, such as pylons, new roads, street lighting or other elements leading to the sub-urbanisation of the countryside. These may have a significant impact upon the appearance and condition of the landscape and all play an important part in shaping the landscape visible from the ground.

  • Late Medieval Buckinghamshire
SOLENT THAMES HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT RESEARCH FRAMEWORK RESOURCE ASSESSMENT MEDIEVAL BUCKINGHAMSHIRE (AD 1066 - 1540) Kim Taylor-Moore with contributions by Chris Dyer July 2007 1. Inheritance Domesday Book shows that by 1086 the social and economic frameworks that underlay much of medieval England were already largely in place. The great Anglo Saxon estates had fragmented into the more compact units of the manorial system and smaller parishes had probably formed out of the large parochia of the minster churches. The Norman Conquest had resulted in the almost complete replacement of the Anglo Saxon aristocracy with one of Norman origin but the social structure remained that of an aristocratic elite supported by the labours of the peasantry. Open-field farming, and probably the nucleated villages usually associated with it, had become the norm over large parts of the country, including much of the northern part of Buckinghamshire, the most heavily populated part of the county. The Chilterns and the south of the county remained for the most part areas of dispersed settlement. The county of Buckinghamshire seems to have been an entirely artificial creation with its borders reflecting no known earlier tribal or political boundaries. Buckingham lay in the far north of the newly created county and the disadvantages associated with this position quickly became apparent as its strategic importance declined.
