General Information Mansion Hotel & Spa at Werribee Park is located in the heart of the picturesque grounds of Werribee Park. All overnight guests of Mansion Hotel & Spa are granted access to the beautiful grounds and can explore the many attractions and features of the park.

The Mansion The Mansion at Werribee Park, constructed between 1874 – 77 marked the peak of affluence for squatters Thomas and Andrew Chirnside, a prominent pastoral family in Victorian times. Between 1922 and 1973 the Catholic Church operated a seminary at Werribee Park, in a combination of the original Mansion and new purpose built additions.
One of these buildings was St Joseph’s Wing, which is now occupied by Mansion Hotel & Spa at Werribee Park. The State Government purchased this unique property in 1973 to ensure its preservation and restoration, and it opened as a historical tourist attraction managed by Parks Victoria in 1977.
Visitors can step into the beautifully restored 60 room Italianate mansion of the Victorian era. Visitors can take a self guided tour of the mansion and outbuildings or with an audio handset telling the history and stories behind each room.
Formal Gardens Explore the 10 hectares of historic formal gardens including registered century old trees, colourful parterre, ornamental lake and one of Australia’s last surviving grottos.
Victoria State Rose Garden Spend some time smelling the 5,500 roses in the 5 hectare Tudor Rose shaped garden. Roses are in bloom from November to April.
Original Farmyard Take a stroll to the farm area. Rustic bluestone outbuildings, once abuzz with workers and activity, provide a stark contrast to the elaborate craftsmanship of the Chirnside Mansion.
Riverine Area The riverine is a natural and cultural treasure. Koori history along Wirribi Yaluk, known today as Werribee River, dates back over 40,000 years with acknowledged cultural heritage sites providing an insight into the Wurundjeri people and their relationship with mother earth.
Werribee Park Sculpture Walk Explore the world of contemporary sculpture with the exciting new Werribee Park Sculpture Walk. Approximately 20 unique sculptures are sited along a meandering pathway leading from an area just behind the Mansion Hotel & Spa and down through the natural riverine.

WERRIBEE OPEN RANGE ZOO
General Information Located just a short 2 minute drive from Mansion Hotel & Spa, in the Werribee Park Precinct, is the spectacular Werribee Open Range Zoo. Experience the unforgettable wildlife safari where animals from around the world roam free in 200 acres of grasslands that are as close as possible to the animals’ natural habitat.
Purpose built safari coaches provide unobstructed views of giraffes, rhinos, zebras, hippos and more as you enjoy an unforgettable wildlife encounter with commentary from trained Safari guides who give a personalised and informed interpretation of the animals, their features and behaviour.
Additional Information No food or drink is permitted on the safari coaches, however we can arrange for a packed lunch for groups to enjoy in the picnic grounds of the zoo, or while waiting for your safari tour to depart.

General Information Experience the relaxing and refreshing techniques of Tai-Chi in a private class held in the serene grounds of Werribee Park. Your teacher, Tibor, has had over 25 years experience sharing this fascinating art with participants, and he will teach a range of valuable exercises from this wonderful ancient discipline.

IYENGAR YOGA is renowned for using ‘props’ (bolsters, straps, blocks etc.) to enable those less flexible to still access yoga poses and thus reap the benefits from a regular yoga practice, and gradually build up strength and flexibility; carrying our own weight or load in an intelligent, energetic yet sensitive way. Recognition and appreciation of these qualities bring understanding and awareness.
SAKSHIN GHATASTHA YOGA Is a dynamic flowing style of Hatha Yoga, linking breath and movements into one uninterrupted flow. The principle of correct positioning with specific regulation of the breath and bandha (internal locks) is the purpose of Sakshin Ghatastha Yoga. Through awareness gained, sensitivity to the inner body develops. When sensitive to the inner body, it becomes easy to remain conscious of the present moment and to reside continuously in the state of Meditation.
CHI KUNG & TAI CHI Drawing on the teachings of Master Shao Zhou Ming, this practice offers a philosophy based on improving muscle tone, strength, fitness, joint flexibility, balance and co-ordination. ARCHERY
General Information Enjoy a fun session of an ancient sport using modern equipment in the hotel grounds. Using tournament quality bows, arrow and targets, participants will be given instruction and practice on how to shoot a recurve bow. Teams will be selected for a short competition and prizes awarded.
Additional Information Players must wear comfortable shoes. Please note that archery is not weather dependent.

BOCCE
General Information A full bocce set is provided for you to play in the hotel grounds. Bocce is usually played in a team of four; however larger groups can still enjoy this challenging game by rotating teams. Each ‘game’ takes approximately 5 minutes.

THE ULTIMATE BARBECUE CHALLENGE
This event is conducted at the multi award winning Essence Food Studio, in Werribee, Victoria. Groups of potential barbecue experts, challenge one another over three hours, with five recipes, using four different Everdure barbecues and a 1.5 M wood-fired oven. This is the ultimate team building event, where all the participants gain a sense of achievement, while having a fun filled experience.
How many can compete? The minimum number that can compete is twenty (20) and we can take up to thirty five (35) participants for the barbecue challenge.
What happens at the challenge? Participants are divided into teams, and then taken to one of five barbecue stations, where they must cook the given recipe in 20 minutes. One portion is judged, tasted and given a mark, while all teams get to eat what they’ve cooked. A bell sounds to signal the end of round one and all teams rotate to the next station where it all happens again.
What can competitors win? At the completion of the barbecue challenge, all participants are brought into the studio where results are given. Prizes are awarded for “Best Team”, “Best performer” of each team and various other consolation awards.
What’s on the menu? The recipes change with the seasons and they include the freshest seafood, the perfect steak, an Asian stir-fry, the ultimate pizza (using the 1.5M wood fired oven) and a flame grilled poultry recipe.
When are these events available? You can choose to hold the Ultimate Barbecue challenge as a lunch time event (11 am to 3 pm), or an evening event (5 pm to 9 pm).
What is included in the cost? We supply colour coded aprons to identify competing teams, professional Shun knives, equipment, foods, all beverages and prizes.
What is the cost? The fee to participate in the Ultimate Barbecue Challenge is $150.00 (including GST) per person. We can cater for smaller groups; however the minimum cost is $3,000.00 (including GST)

The Werribee Victorian Clay Target Shooting Range is just a 20 minute drive from Mansion Hotel & Spa at Werribee Park and features a full international standard trap, skeet and clay target range.

GOLF AT WERRIBEE PARK
General Information Located adjacent to Mansion Hotel & Spa at Werribee Park, the Golf Course is an 18 hole featuring a 12 bay driving range, fully stocked pro-shop, chipping and putting green. At 6,247 metres, this golf course is one of the longest courses in Victoria. Excellent natural drainage makes the course playable all year round, and the rural setting makes it a unique experience.

General Information In the purpose-built deluxe billiard room within Mansion Hotel & Spa enjoy a unique and memorable billiards / snooker event watching a world famous trick shot show (as seen on TV) by triple World Champion, trick shot specialist and brilliant entertainer, Robby Foldvari.
Robby has performed for many companies and even Heads of State. His first cue is exhibited at the MCG, National Sports Museum.

LEARN TO PLAY POLO - THE SPORT OF KINGS
General Information Ever wondered why polo is referred to as the Sport of Kings? This is your opportunity to find out and experience the thrill of participating in this elite sport. The Victorian Polo Association Polo Academy provides two group options:
Additional Information Horse riding experience is not essential to participate, as a groom will be leading ponies to ensure safety. This activity is only available during the Victorian polo season (start of November through to end of March).
General Intro, Training This option includes a general introduction to polo. The group is then split into teams, each team is lead by a professional polo player who will instruct their teams on the rules and theory of polo, swing practice on the ground, to learn technique before moving on to how to ride a pony (controls and aids).

Fortress – will you escape from the FORTRESS?
Fortress comprises of a series of mental and physical initiative tests. It is designed to make people work together to design and implement quality solutions. It’s also designed to be FUN! Mental acumen and cooperation are much more important than physical prowess. People have to work together to escape the Fortress.
The program replicates the working environment, teams are given goals and tasks to overcome and it provides a strategy to see how they co-operate, communicate, solve conflicts and most importantly it highlights if they utilize the experience, knowledge and skills that exist within the group to overcome the challenges that confront them.
Banana Republic – a true catalyst for discussion and debate on ethics and your forward planning. Banana Republic is a “free form” experiential exercise (the rules are that there are no rules!), focussing on negotiation and communication skills.
Banana Republic brings to life the intrigue, power and money struggles of differing interest groups in a fictional developing country and your team is right in the middle of the action. Will your ethics and standards hold firm or is it true that money really is the universal language?

Additional Information Laser Skirmish is conducted in the “Laser Skirmish Paddock”, just a short walk through the grounds of Werribee Park. Your Skirmish referee will meet you in the forecourt of Mansion Hotel & Spa and escort you to the site.

General Information Using traditional African carved drums, this workshop is focused on fun! You will have the unique opportunity to learn simple musical patterns which come together to create energetic and exciting music, and learn basic chants and movement to accompany you’re newly created song.

General Information Our ultimate experience - in the ideal location - builds your unbeatable team!
Inspired by the reality television show known the world over, our Survivor experience, is exclusive to Work@Play Pty Ltd. This is a fun, memorable, ‘outside the box’ solution designed to heighten communication and build teams.
Appealing to a large and varied audience Survivor will be an inclusive experience that is accessible to all. Specially tailored to meet your objectives it will utilise and capitalise on the unique location and leave your team members on a high.
Framework A series of fun, challenging activities that drive participants to work as a team to succeed.
The challenges are specially devised to take advantage of the facilities available at the location, to minimise physical exertion and maximise team cohesion. Each challenge is linked back to key messages tailored to your event objectives.
Healthy competition is encouraged as the group is broken into teams (or tribes) of 10 (or number to suit) competing against one another to be ‘The Ultimate Team’. At the end of each challenge a ‘short straw’ is drawn and someone must change tribes. This challenges team dynamic when participants must quickly adapt to change and use it to their advantage.
Survivor culminates in a Tribal Council where key elements of the event and the activities are discussed sharing Survivor experiences.
There will be a Fun Trophy for the winning team (or prize for each participant), as well as a unique prize for the participant who envelopes the team spirit best.

MURDER MYSTERY DINNER
Andrew's Murder Mysteries
The Colonial Murder Mystery is set in 1857 just after the Eureka Stockade, at a shares issue dinner of the newly formed Victorian Gold Company. The evening is driven by the clients themselves, aided by their written instructions and secret cues given by the host.
The entire event takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete. The guest’s aid in the solving of the mystery and prizes are awarded for the best sleuthing and the best performances.
The fun is that nobody knows who is going to die next and who is not what they seem. That and a generous amount of cross dressing, impromptu speechifying, scandalous revelation, singing, dancing, gunfights, stabbings and poisonings; generally creates a very enjoyable event.
Your clients will not see each other in exactly the same light the next morning: They will have slightly richer view of their colleagues.
Format of the Evening At the end of the day the clients return to their rooms to find a costume, props and character instructions laid out for them. Including an invitation to a dinner and pre dinner drinks.
I'd give them at least an hour to organize themselves and get dressed; I will be on hand to make last minute adjustments. Pre dinner drinks should be at least half an hour to an hour, at this point I introduce the characters and give any private instructions.
From there we proceed to dinner (suggest three course set menu) whereupon the plot unfolds with much murder and mayhem between the courses.
Overall running time of the show is difficult to estimate, dependant as it is upon the personalities involved and the alcohol consumed! But if you need to finish at a certain time, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
