FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 09/14/2018 JERRY KRAMER TO RECEIVE HALL OF FAME RING OF EXCELLENCE DURING WEEK 2 GREEN BAY PACKERS TO HONOR HALL OF FAMER DURING SPECIAL CEREMONY CANTON, OHIO – The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Kay® Jewelers, the Official Jewelry Store of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will honor Hall of Famer JERRY KRAMER on Sunday, Sept. 16 when the Green Bay Packers host the Minnesota Vikings. Fans at the Week 2 matchup will witness Class of 2018 Enshrinee Kramer receive his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence during a special halftime presentation. The Hall’s President & CEO David Baker will present Kramer with his Ring of Excellence. The game is slated to kick off at noon CT at Lambeau Field. The Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is one of three iconic symbols that represent the elite status of being a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Kramer received his Hall of Fame Gold Jacket and unveiled his Bronzed Bust during his Enshrinement this past August. HALL OF FAME RING OF EXCELLENCE The Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is created by Kay® Jewelers, the number one jewelry store in America and the Official Jewelry Store of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The spectacular Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is set in 14K gold with a total diamond weight of 1¾ carats. However, it is much more than a beautiful piece of jewelry. Intricate details on the ring reflect the special significance of enshrinement. • The outer diamonds create a “stadium” effect surrounding the football-shaped diamond center. • The vibrant blue gemstone was selected both for appearance and meaning, as blue is often associated with confidence, power and integrity – all traits of these incredible legendary football icons. • Kramer’s Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is customized to reflect his unique career. A likeness of his bronzed bust, along with “Guard” (his position) and “1958-1968” (his years in the NFL) appear on one side while “Kramer,” the Pro Football Hall of Fame logo and “Class of 2018” are included on the other. • Additionally, a special arbormark (or engraving) appears on the inside of the ring, which is Kramer’s Enshrinee number 314. EXCERPT FROM KRAMER’S ENSHRINEMENT SPEECH IN AUGUST “There was a fellow by the name of William Jenning Bryan who was a lawyer and an orator and a really brilliant man, and he said success in life is not so much a matter of chance as it is a matter of choice. We choose to do the right thing, and we choose not to do the right thing. So, a great deal in life is a matter of choice. Coach Lombardi, to sum it all up, after the game is over, stadium lights are out, parking lot is empty, you're back in the quiet of your room, championship ring is on the dresser, the only thing left at this time is for you to lead a life of quality and excellence and make this old world a little bit better place because you were in it.” GREEN BAY PACKERS IN THE HALL OF FAME (25) – Herb Adderley, Tony Canadeo, Willie Davis, Brett Favre, Forrest Gregg, Arnie Herber, Clarke Hinkle, Paul Hornung, Cal Hubbard, Don Hutson, Henry Jordan, JERRY KRAMER, Earl “Curly” Lambeau, James Lofton, Vince Lombardi, Johnny “Blood” McNally, Mike Michalske, Ray Nitschke, Jim Ringo, Dave Robinson, Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Reggie White, Ron Wolf, Willie Wood GUARDS IN THE HALL OF FAME: (18) Larry Allen (also T), Lou Creekmur (also T), Joe DeLamielleure, Russ Grimm, John Hannah, Gene Hickerson, Stan Jones (also T/DT), JERRY KRAMER, Larry Little, Tom Mack, Bruce Matthews (also C/T), Randall McDaniel, Mike Munchak, Jim Parker (also T), Billy Shaw, Will Shields, Dick Stanfel, Gene Upshaw PHOTOS: Images of Kramer’s Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence may be downloaded for editorial purposes only. © Pro Football Hall of Fame. https://profootballhof.box.com/s/avk1dnj0uzu6rv0edfe2ks5szxwb8sw7 ### CONTACTS: Pete Fierle, Chief of Staff & Vice President of Communications [email protected]; 330-588-3622 Rachel Gutting, Communications Coordinator [email protected]; 330-588-3671 ABOUT THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME Located in Canton, Ohio, the birthplace of the National Football League, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit institution with the Mission to Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values, & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE.
