When com­ pleted two years later, it impounded the waters of the Osage River creating the 129-mile-long Lake of the Ozarks, with some 1,300 miles of wooded shoreline. The lake inundated parts of Camden, Miller, Morgan, Benton, Henry and St. Clair counties.
