Labour gained two seats (Rushmere and Whitton) and the Liberal Democrats gained one seat (St Margaret’s) from the Conservatives. There was an overall turn-out across Ipswich of 30.4%. Four long-serving Councillors retired from the Council – former Mayors Roger Fern and David Goldsmith, ex-Leader Bill Knowles and Martin Goonan.
