  • Miss Temple City Heading Back to Royal Ascot
Miss Temple City heading back to Royal Ascot Miss Temple City (Graham Motion USA), who finished a close fourth in the 2015 Coronation Stakes for the USA, will be heading back to Royal Ascot this year with the £175,000 Group Two Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Wednesday, June 15) her target. Beaten just two lengths behind Ervedya (Jean Claude Rouget FR) last year, the four-year-old Miss Temple City recorded the biggest victory of her career last time out when taking the Grade One Maker's 46 Mile at Keeneland on April 15, when she saw off the colts to score comfortably by a length and a quarter. Sean Feld, representing part-owners The Club, commented: "It was an awesome performance from Miss Temple City at Keeneland last time out and she has come out of the race great. "When she won at Keeneland, she was also cross-entered in the race that Tepin won (the Coolmore Jenny Wiley Stakes) but the way that race shaped up on paper, we thought it would be better to take on the colts in Maker's 46 Mile. We were not expecting to win, and she ran much better than we all thought she would. "She has grown and looks totally different to what she looked like last year. She is bigger and has much more weight on her. She has gone from being a nice big filly to basically looking like a colt. "We are now pointing towards the Duke of Cambridge Stakes with her and she won't run in between.

Breeders’ Cup World Championships Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4 Tuesday Turf Notes Monday, October 30, 2017 Contact Notes Team: 859-250-0358 OVERSEAS Having cleared quarantine Monday night, all the English and French horses that arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning saw the Del Mar racetrack for the first time. First out on to the dirt was the Gordon Elliott-trained Beckford (Juvenile Turf), who was quickly followed by Juliet Capulet (Juvenile Fillies Turf), Decorated Knight (Turf). All had a gentle stretch of their legs and did nothing more than canter. Rajasinghe and Sands of Mali (Juvenile Turf) with Suedois (Mile) were next out on the main track. Suedois, winner of the Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland appeared to be suffering no ill effects from his flight and looked in great spirits in the hands of regular rider Fergal Davis. Newmarket trainer Richard Spencer was at the track Tuesday morning as his Juvenile Turf hope Rajasinghe went out for a gentle canter on the main track. “He didn’t do much this morning, but he’s in good order, and he’ll do a little more later in the week,” Spencer said. Of his draw in the outside post 14 on Friday, he said “Obviously it’s not ideal, but we have to take what we’re given, and we’ll see how the race unfolds.” Gimcrack winner Sands of Mali was very fresh when he first came out on to the track but soon settled down having gone a circuit of the track at a steady trot.
