In addition, the Center is sponsoring an ongoing series of informal lectures and discus- sions for faculty and students on a wide range of topics relating to Israel. Hacohen, professor of Jewish history at Bar-Ilan University in Israel and the author of numerous publications on immigration to Israel, discussed mass immigration to Israel during the early years of statehood and its effect on the demographic composition of the country.
