Loker Student Union Meeting Rooms 326 & 327 I. Called to order at 12:31 p.m. by Blake Anger, Chairperson. II. Approval of Agenda – Action Item *M/Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, S/Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity to approve agenda with amendment to add the approval of Association of Political Science Students’ startup funds and Scholars United request for a banner under New Business. VOTE: 42/0/0 UNANIMOUS IV. Approval of Minutes (October 11, 2019)- Action Item *M/Omega Phi Chi Multicultural Sorority, S/Women Success Alliance to approve minutes with amendment to add Pi Theta Epsilon, SOTA, ICOT, Digital Media Arts Success Club, eSport Association, and Tabletop & Trading Card Gaming under roll call. VOTE: UNANIMOUS 2/0/0 V. Open Forum- Agenda Items Only Time for the members of the audience to address the Commission on specific agenda items only. None. VI. Unfinished Business A. ASI Orgs Commission Event- Discussion Item The Commission will hear from Stephen Janes, ASI Program Coordinator regarding ASI Orgs Commission Event. The event will include the following: vendors providing food samples, a central stage with variety of performers, passport card for student attendees to be redeemed for prizes or food. Some of the proposed food vendors include: Tux & Chucks Street Food, Yuyo Bros. Mexican Fusion, and Alitas El Diablo Mexican Hot Wings. The Commission is to decide on a location (Sculpture Garden, East Walkway, or Activities Field) and time of day (afternoon or evening). The event title is Club Fest and will tentatively take place on February 20, 2020. VII. New Business A. Omega Delta Phi Fraternity- Action Item The Commission will discuss and consider the possibility of funding Omega Delta Phi for Southwest Regional Conference. *M/Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, S/Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to approve $165 for Omega Delta Phi’s Southwest Regional Conference. VOTE: UNANIMOUS B. Association of Political Science Students – Action Item The Commission will discuss and consider the possibility of funding Association of Political Science Students for startup funds. *M/Peace Club, S/Zeta Phi Beta Sorority to table the approval of startup funds for Association of Political Science Students due to their absence. VOTE: UNANIMOUS C. Scholars United – Action Item The Commission will discuss and consider the possibility of funding Scholars United for a professional banner. *M/Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, S/Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity to table the approval of funds for Scholars United due to their absence. VOTE: UNANIMOUS VIII. Reports Organizations Commissioner spoke to Ed from Dining Services and said he is willing to help with needs and concerns from the Commission. Student Activities Commissioner is having a meeting at 2pm. Director of Student Services reported that Clothes Closet will be located in the library and is now accepting donations in the ASI Office. Peace Club will have a Panda Express fundraiser on October 31st. Ceramics Guild is hosting a workshop/potluck on Saturday and Sunday from 10am- 2pm. Anime Club is hosting the costume competition at Halloween Haunt; contact them if any club/organization is interested. eSports Association is having a Super Smash Bros tournament and general meeting on November 7th from 5:30-8:00pm. Intervarsity Christian Fellowship has their bible study small group Monday- Thursday. Anthropology Club is planning a spring event called Anthropology in Hollywood in collaboration with Digital Media Arts Success Club. Sigma Pi Fraternity International will be at Sharkees on Halloween and are also attending a television taping. Andante reported that the campus bulletin will have an event on October 30th in which people will be dressed in costumes at the Communications Department. SCC Noble will be tabling on the East Walkway Tuesday from 12pm-3pm alongside an LAPD officer and Sherriff. An LAPD interviewer will be on campus on Thursday in LSU 113 from 7 to 8 pm. Toro Psych Club’s Creative Expression event is in the spring; contact them to sign up if a club/organization is interested in collaborating. Office of Student Life is opening up spring recognition; an email will be sent out with all the information. Mobile check-ins are required at all events except tabling events. IX. Open Forum- Discussion Item Time for members of the audience to address the Commission. Anger agreed to reach out to Campus Dining again after collecting the commission’s questions and concerns. Accounting Manager showed the ASI Orgs Commission remaining budget; there is still 98% of the general budget remaining. Quiller reminded students to submit club points via Toro Link or Hashtag. Quiller reminded the commission that the Children’s Center will have their “trunk or treat” event on Halloween, and all clubs are invited to participate. X.
