John Perrin of Aylesford NOT a son of Thomas Perrin of Wateringbury Aylesford, Kent JOHN PERRIN (probably a brother or cousin of Abraham Perrin of Rochester) married ELIZABETH HOLDWAY in 1782 in Aylesford Parish Church. Witnesses: William Hall and Sarah Holdway. Elizabeth HOLDWAY was living at Maidstone at the time of the marriage. Witness: William Hall and Sarah Holdway. He died 1822, she in 1826, both are buried in Parish cemetery. John was a farmer. His will indicated that he lived at Forstal, Aylesford. He was a laborer in a Brewhouse in Maidstone. Children John 1807, Joseph 1809, Sophia 1812, then Jesse JOHN married Sarah DOVE 16 Jul 1813 Burham, Kent. He was a farmer. Hannah Schage1831 He was a customs officer in Liverpool JESSE & MARY MOORE PERRIN JESSE of Aylesford, Kent married Mary MOORE in 1816 Gillingham Parish, Kent. Mary was the daughter of Peter Moore and his second wife, Mary Hester. Witnesses: Jacob Perrin and Mary Perrin Jesse farmed over 200 acres for a number of years, living at Court Lodge farm. He died in 1861 and she in 1864. Both are buried in parish church cemetery in Aylesford. Their children: Rachel 1820-1876 m.1850 Thomas GROOMBRIDGE, a baker in Aylesford as were some of their sons. They had 7 children: Thomas Henry, William, Mary Elizabeth, Emma Caroline, Rachel, Thomas Jesse and Henry. Peter Moore 1823-1906 m. Rebecca CAMPBELL 1820-1860 They had five children: Selina, Rebecca, Peter, Josiah and Arthur Josiah & Peter went to US Second wife: Elizabeth Maria SIMON 1824-1911 He was a farmer in Aylesford. William 1824-1904 m.1847 Mary CROWTHER 1825 They had 8 children: William Moore, Alfred Adolph, Frederick, Henry, Mary Laura, Emma, Jesse, Edgar He was a barge master, as was William Moore. Alfred Adolph’s daughter, Alice settled in Montreal, CA Susannah 1825-1904, spinster Elizabeth 1828-1914 m.1851 William DEDRICK 1830-1882 He was a mariner and then straw and hay dealer in Milton They had 9 children: Elizabeth, Emily, William, John Philip, Jesse Perrin, Alice, Frank Sydney, Stanley Herbert and Henry. Mary Ann 1831-1896 m.1854 George Thomas HAMMOND 1827-1897. George was a builder. They had 6 children: Mary Elizabeth, George Richard, Elizabeth Ann, Jesse William, Ada Susannah and Sarah Jane. The two boys immigrated to Canada and settled in Maple Creek, Sask. Esther 1833-1872 m. Stephen Esau DODGE an Independent Minister. They had three children: Emmeline, Edmund and Marian Esther. Edmund was a chemist & druggist in East Suffolk Jesse 1835-1897 m. 1860 Ann HAMMOND 1826-1886 They had 9 children many of whom went to Maple Creek, Sask. with their Hammond and Hawkes cousins. Jesse married Winifred Ann BROAD 1892 and moved to Luton, Chatham where he bought a butcher shop with son, Jesse Resker Perrin. Alfred 1838-1919 m.1861 Matilda HAMSHAR 1838-1896 David 1844-1910 m.1865 Celia Sarah WIGHTMAN 1843-1915 They had 4 children born in Iowa and later settled in South Dakota and Oak Park, Chicago area, IL Two of their sons, David & Jesse were clergy in the Congregational Church. Matilda d. 1896 and Alfred in 1919. They are buried in St. Luke Parish Cemetery, Rake, West Sussex Alfred was a market gardener first in Greenwich, then Liss, Hampshire and Rake, West Sussex. St. Luke’s Parish Church, Rake, West Sussex MATILDA HAMSHAR was the daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Lucas Hamshar of Dorking, Surrey. Her siblings were: Edward, Elisa, Emma, Alfred, Caroline and Emily. Her father was a blacksmith, born Wornesh, Surrey. Matilda Hamshar Perrin St. Peter’s Church, LISS, Hampshire Their children: Matilda Caroline 1862-1955 m. John James HARRISON 1859-1922 They had two children: Jack 1895-1964 and Ernest Edward 1896-1973. The family lived at 51 Millais Rd., Sholing area of Southampton and had a confection store. He was a Naval Pensioner. Buried in St. Mary’s Church cemetery, Sholing as is his wife. Alfred Jesse 1864-1942 m. Ellen SEATTER 1870-1926. Elizabeth Rhoda 1866- Emily Rose 1868-1927 David Robert 1870 m.1903 Clara Matilda LONDON 1870 Lived in London area with two sons, Alfred Branwhite and Fred David. He was a domestic engineer. Annie Mary 1871-1946 m.1894 Herbert Edward ELLIOTT 1870-1947 a carpenter. They lived at 151 New Park Road, Streatham, Surrey. They had 9 children: Elsie Margaret (m. George Frederick Moore), Daniel Richard, Catherine (m. Harold Nathaniel Matthews), Eva Jessie Matilda (d. 1902 age 2,) Herbert Edward (d. 1901 infant), Dorothy Rose (m. Alfred Caddick), Alfred Maurice, Herbert Rowland, Irene Mary (m.George Day). Daniel Hamshar 1872 m.1903 Maria Harrett BATTEN 1865-1942 He was a gardener in West Tytherly, Hampshire Bertha Sarah 1874-1960 m.1907 George HOWARD 1872-1940 One known daughter, Barbara Grace b. 1911. Ernest James 1876-1948 m.1901 Jessie Olive JOHNSON 1880-1956 Christ Church, Streatham. They had two daughters: Olive Gladys m. Reginald Charles Poole and Winifred Jessie Living in Ewell, Surrey 1948. Two grandchildren: Ann Margaret Poole and John Howard Poole. Obituary indicated 55 years of valued member of staff of Messrs. Longbourne, Stevens and Powell. He was a Solicitors Managing Clerk. Ethel Miriam 1877-1955 She was a teacher in Woolston Schools in Southampton area and never married. Lived with her sister, Matilda Harrison. Walter Samuel 1879-1961 m. 1903 Cecelia Anne WINDIBANK 1878-1925. They had two boys: Percy d. 1911 age 7 and Alfred b. 1913-1994 m.1938 Joy Leonore Levett 1913-1984. Alfred was a heating engineer and had a son, Max and daughter, Hope Celia. Walter remarried in 1928 Annie Kate Gutteridge 18876- 1936. Percival Phillip 1881-1916. He served with the Royal Sussex Regiment 13th Battalion in WW 1 and died in assault of Boar’s Head and is buried in the town cemetery, Bethune, France. There is a memorial plaque in the Parish Church of St. Luke, Milland, West Sussex with his name on it. ALFRED JESSE & ELLEN SEATTER PERRIN ALFRED JESSE PERRIN was born in Greenwich, Kent, England 13 March 1864. He grew up in Liss, Hampshire and Rake, West Sussex. He left London, England 29 April 1886 arriving Quebec 15 May 1886 with a CPR ticket to Toronto. He entered the US thru Canada 15 Sep. 1886. He married ELLEN SEATTER b. 1870 Orkney, Scotland whom he met in Buffalo. They were married in 1896 and shortly thereafter moved to a farm in the Boston Hills area outside of Buffalo. Ellen died in 1926 and Alfred died 1942. Both are buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, NY. ELLEN SEATTER was born in the Parish of Evie and Rendall, Orkney Isles in 1870 and grew up in Walker House there. Her parents were James and Elizabeth Flett Seatter. She came to the US 1891 with her sister, Matilda who was married to John Ross Paterson and settled in Buffalo, NY. Her brothers, Jeremiah, James Garson and William also settled there as did nephews, John Seatter, James and William Hutchison. Her sisters Lydia Seatter Hutchison and Ann Seatter Whitelaw remained in Scotland with their families. They had nine children: Elizabeth 1897-1981 m.
