The series starts off strong Volumes 1 and 2 are probably the bestbut as the series goes on, it goes more into the improbable and the, "Crap; this needs to run longer than I originally intended, I Demon Love Spell come up with something" territories. It's a bit of fluff with ridiculous sexual tension, guys that moan from the touch of a hand, and pledging devotion to a girl within a week of meeting her - and it's totally a guilty pleasure, like all of Shinjo's works have been for me. Is it Demon Love Spell strongest of her works? Not really, but it's more fun than "Ai, Ore! Speaking of, it does make me want to track down "Sensual Phrase. Absolutely NOT. This What defines a "guilty pleasure? This is pure, unadulterated romantic fanservice Demon Love Spell girls and women, and nothing more or less. I see what you did there, Japan and her constantly horny incubus boyfriend, Kagura. It's pretty ridiculous, but also a fun ride. This manga is basically Black Bird done right, in terms of portraying a hot demon guy who's kinda pushy with his affections. Black Bird overdid it, with having the love Demon Love Spell, Kyo, be downright rapey with his, er, insistence towards his lady love. Whereas, in Demon Love SpellKagura is literally an incubus, and literally lives off the love and passion of women, and yet holds back in extraordinary levels, and Miko quite obviously enjoys every moment of it, Demon Love Spell only resists because of her duties as a shrine priestess. This manga only has one "problematic" scene in the last volume, but it barely lasts a few panels, so I barely count it. Besides, that's like, what? If you're a sucker for shoujo romantic nonsense, with demons and priestess powers, and relatively tame action scenes both for defeating demons and for steamy love scenesthen give Demon Love Spell a try. It might give you a good laugh or some level of fluffy entertainment, it might not. But if you can't stand any of the tropes I mentioned, then it's probably best to steer clear. It definitely has its particular audience, and I'm just a shameless member of that group. May 09, Isa Belle rated it it was ok. To Demon Love Spell honest, the last 2 volumes frustrated me, mostly because of the lead girl, Miko. She pretty much annoyed me. She caused much more drama for no reason at all. I only wanted the series to end at that point. The 1st 4 vols were "better". Quite enjoyable. The only good part about the whole series was the comedy some scenes made me laugh out loud and some of the supporting characters. Also we never got to know more about Momota afterwards. I was curious if he'd visit them Demon Love Spell, especially at the end. I wished we'd get to see some character development from the lead couple, but that didn't really happen. I absolutely loved the series, I read it all in a day and when I finished I felt like I should re-read it again straight away. Greatly recommend it to everyone. The manga had moments where it just touched my heart ever so gently, moments where I was close to crying and easy moments full of joy. An entertaining and surprisingly adorable tale of a spiritualy "blind" miko and the Incubus who falls Demon Love Spell love with her and her parents who are surpisingly okay with him being around, just as long as his powers are sealed and he is in his "tiny" form. Dear God this thing was hysterical! Played straight, this would have been boring, perhaps a little creepy, and certainly not worth reading. Done the way it was, everything was so over-the-top you couldn't help but start laughing. Shinjo definitely succeeded in making a manga you can't Demon Love Spell but crack up at. Besides just laughs, "Demon Love Spell" also has an entertaining starring duo. I can't help but love Miko, who accidentally gets it right when she tries to seal a demon. Miko's got strong opinio Dear Demon Love Spell this thing was Demon Love Spell Miko's got strong opinions and a loud mouth to go with it, as well as an interest in the occult that borderlines on obsessive and a punchline to go with just about any of her shrine priestess "spells". Kagura's just as ridiculously over-the-top as Miko, making them an excellent slapstick pair as well as a very interesting couple. These two put the "dynamic" in "dynamic duo" and when they aren't having a exciting shouting match they are having a tender, if awkward, moment. The art is also surprisingly good for a comedy. I didn't really think about the fact this could have gotten smutty fast if it wanted to until I read some reviews! There is some innuendo towards some passionate times between our couple but those dreams are never more than hinted at. What I ended Demon Love Spell loving about these two volumes is that it seemed to be a commentary on instalove. Kagura instantly loves Miko when she Demon Love Spell his only meal source. Miko seems to want to give in too, except that love isn't her focus. Yes, she's attracted to Kagura who wouldn't be?! Yes, its the classic "should I? So is he in love? Or is instalove a cry for help Demon Love Spell to his need to be loved?! Well Miko is clearly going to put him through the wringer!! The art is really, really good. It's not gorgeous in the ways of some of my absolutely favorite manga series but its perfectly suited to the story. This mangaka clearly knows her stuff! The love interests are where the time is spend and for good reason There are a few backgrounds when we need it and Miko is relatively simple, everything about her being developed in her Demon Love Spell and character arc!! This mini me is so freakin' adorable and his way of speaking subtly changes when in that Demon Love Spell. So smart And you may want to look away from the covers because they are freaking gorgeous look Demon Love Spell I have to take away that first art comment In the first volume her parents quickly find out about Kagura and its so freaking adorable!! I mean your heart totally melts!! That was the first time that I realized that this isn't going to be Demon Love Spell regular shoujo manga. You expect the tension in the story to arise from outside Miko and Kagura's relationship because duh, instalove! But its the exact opposite It's unexpected and makes for super fun!! I really loved how the plot flowed. Because there are demons there are battles and fights over Miko. There is Miko and Kagura's relationship and it being about more than instalove. Then we have her parents and the fact her father could exorcise him in an instant! We also deal with Kagura's Demon Love Spell and the fact he must feed off of love. In volume 1 we are learning Demon Love Spell Miko and incubi so there are a series of interactions and they are fun and tell us a lot So volume 2 we get a poignant story that practically rips your heart out And then Miko and Kagura's relationship is tested for the first time!!
