As demand for energy increases globally so does the need for renewable energy sources that foster sustainability without efficiency being compromised. The location of the Powerlink distribution system and the Government’s target of having 50 per cent of the State’s electricity generation coming from renewable sources by 2030 has sharpened the focus of renewable energy within the Rockhampton Region. The transition towards a focus on a renewable energy system represents a unique economic growth opportunity for the Rockhampton Region that brings with it a host of positive impacts.
