Media Release Wednesday, February 19, 2020 Rogers Hometown Hockey in LaSalle on February 22 and 23

Rogers Hometown Hockey makes its way to LaSalle on February 22 and 23, with a great weekend of FREE hockey-related activities, NHL Alumni appearances by and Kris Draper, music, and fun for the whole family! Join us at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex on Saturday from noon to 6:00 pm, and on Sunday from noon until the event closes. Music will be performed by local artists Steve Oriet and Buck Twenty.

Join Ron MacLean and Tara Slone LIVE at the Vollmer Complex on Sunday, February 23 at 6:30 pm for the broadcast as they tell the stories that celebrate the hockey history and culture that put LaSalle on Canada's hockey map. Stick around to catch the take on the Red Wings on the big screen. Join us at 6:00 pm for our Parade of Champions featuring many of our local teams.

The LaSalle Vipers face-off against the Komoka Kings at 2:30 pm on Sunday with a special Hometown Hockey puck drop. Tickets are $10 per adult, and seniors/students are $8. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Parking Lot 1, located in front of the Vollmer Complex, will be closed for all access beginning on Thursday, February 20. It will remain closed until noon on Monday, February 24. The event activities take place in this parking lot on Saturday and Sunday.

General Parking Information sParking i limited and we anticipate that it may be challenging at times on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23. All the Vollmer parking lots (except Parking Lot 1) will be open. Watch for directional signs for additional parking available in the lots near the soccer fields and ball diamonds at the Vollmer Complex (parking lots 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7). If you park in a soccer field/ball diamond lot, the Vollmer Complex can be accessed by walking on the trails. Parking is also available and allowed at Sandwich Secondary School during the event.

Parking Lot 2 - Vollmer South Parking Lot(near the Gary L. Parent Rink) The south parking lot will be one way for traffic on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23. Directional signage will be posted and security will be onsite enforcing and monitoring traffic flow.

Drop-off Zone The semi-circle in front of the Vollmer Complex (near the concession/food court doors) will be a drop-off zone on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23. This can be used to drop-off children and/or equipment. Security will be monitoring this area, and stopping will only be permitted to drop-off. Idling or leaving vehicles will not be allowed. Parents who are dropping children off for the Parade of Champions on Sunday are encouraged to use this area.

FREE Shuttle Service A continuous FREE shuttle service will run from Windsor Crossing Premium Outlets (1555 Talbot Road) to the LaSalle Civic Centre (5950 Malden Road) to the Vollmer Complex (2121 Laurier Parkway) and back throughout the event. There will be signs posted at the pick-up locations at each site. The shuttle will start at noon at Windsor Crossing both days. The entire route will take about 30 minutes. LaSalle Transit will be operating FREE service on their regular route and schedule on Saturday, February 22.
