This is the first time DISH Network has offered local TV channels on digital satellite TV in the Des Moines area, providing a better alternative to local cable TV service. Local channels will be offered at a $1 per month discount to the regular price of $5.99 per month for DISH Network customers in the Des Moines area until agreements are reached with ABC.

With the addition of Des Moines, DISH Network offers local channels to a total of 51 cities and their metro areas nationwide.
