    February 3, 2020 Seoul, Korea Hanyu (JPN), Kihira (JPN), Sui/Han (CHN) headed for Seoul for ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2020 Preview Following the ISU European Figure Skating Championships the attention now shifts this week to the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships with many of the non-European top skaters competing in Seoul, Korea (February 4-9). Seoul has hosted the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championship once before in 2015. 100 skaters from 12 ISU members have been entered for this 21th edition of the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships: 25 Men, 21 Ladies, 11 Pair Skating couples and 16 Ice Dance couples. Skaters/couples need to have obtained a minimum total technical score in Short Program and Free Skating in order to compete at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. Three out of four reigning ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Champions are back and hope to defend their title. Overview of the top contenders Two-time Olympic Champion Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN) headlines the Men’s event. The current ISU World Figure Skating silver medalist has competed three times before at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championship and has won silver each time: in 2011, 2013 and 2017. Now he finally wants to take the only major title he is missing in his impressive collection. With a season’s best of 322.59 points, Hanyu is the top favorite in Seoul. Competition should come from 2018 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Champion Boyang Jin (CHN/seasons best 268.31) and 2018 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating bronze medalist Jason Brown (USA/SB 255.09) and Korean Champion Junhwan Cha, who wants to shine on home ice (SB 230.44).

World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) enters his second event and aims at sealing his spot in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in Torino (ITA). Zagitova (RUS), Chen (USA), Uno (JPN), Papadakis/Cizeron (FRA) headline Internationaux de France Nathan Chen (USA) leads the Men and is aiming at another gold medal and at the ticket to Turin following his confident win at Skate America. Olympic silver medalist Shoma Uno (JPN) competes in his first Grand Prix event this season and wants to challenge the leader.     October 12, 2018 Lausanne, Switzerland Olympic and World Champions to compete in ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2018/19 Olympic Champions Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN) and Alina Zagitova (RUS), 2018 World Champion Nathan Chen (USA) and three-time Ice Dance World Champions Gabriella Papadakis/Guillaume Cizeron (FRA) as well Olympic, World, European and Four Continents medalists will compete in the six events of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series when the hot phase of the 2018/19 season starting next week. The series in this post-Olympic season features also the next generation of up and coming skaters. Overview of the events The Grand Prix series traditionally kicks off with Skate America, this time held in Everett, WA (USA) October 19 to 21. World Champion Chen, World bronze medalist Satoko Miyahara (JPN), two-time European Pairs Champions Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov (RUS) and Ice Dance World silver medalists Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) lead the line-up. Skate Canada in Laval, QC (CAN), October 26 to 28 is headlined by Olympic and World silver medalist Shoma Uno (JPN), 2018 Four Continents bronze medalist Jason Brown (USA), Olympic silver medalist Evgenia Medvedeva (RUS), World silver medalist Wakaba Higuchi (JPN), World bronze medalists Vanessa James/Morgan Cipres (FRA) in the Pairs and Hubbell/Donohue in the Ice Dance competition. World Junior Ice Dance Champions Anastasia Skoptcova/Kirill Aleshin (RUS) will debut on the Grand Prix series. For the first time, Helsinki (FIN) will host a Grand Prix event on November 2 to 4.
