Government fails on electricity prices Just more than a year on from the 2015 NSW election, during which the Baird Liberal Government committed to privatising the electricity distribution network in NSW, local families are set to see their power bills rise by an average of $200 per year. The price hike comes after the Baird Government took the Australian Energy Regulator to court, killing the Regulator’s proposal to reduce power bills by over $500 per year.
