Virtual Learning Snow Days We recently announced that virtual learning will be required on days when our schools are physically closed due to winter weather. Here is information regarding what these days will look like. FDSH Students - All classes will meet virtually via Google Meet at the beginning of each scheduled period. The link to each class’s Google Meet can be found on each course’s Google Classroom. Teachers will provide instruction as well as directions on where work to be completed can be found. Homeroom and MTSS will not meet. Students who normally learn At Home will continue their lessons in Edgenuity. Questions about virtual learning days for high school students should be directed to any of the building administrators. Students who do not have internet access at home may check out a hotspot from the Central Office between 8-4:30 Monday through Friday beginning anytime. They will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Hot spots will need to be returned to the Central Office at the end of the school year. SYDNEY HONSBRUCH: ART INSTRUCTOR This is my second year at the high school teaching art. Being a fairly new teacher is a challenge some days. I dislike not knowing the answers to my questions and having to ask for help. However, me needing to ask my fellow teachers for help allows me to meet more people and make connections; I am still meeting teachers in this building that I haven't met before. Speaking of connec- tions, I love to make student connections. Amazingly if I had to guess I would say that I've had almost 85% of the entire student body; from when I taught at the elementary and middle school. Seeing all of my past students in the hallway and in my classes makes me so happy. They have changed so much but at the same time their personal- ities are so similar to what they used to be. Another fun fact about the art department is we will be getting a new little addition in March :) At the Fort Dodge Community School District, we are professional, high-performing team players focused on delivering the best possible learning experience for each one of our 3600 students. We respect diversity, value integrity, reward competitively, celebrate success and support employee growth and development. We aim to attract, develop and retain the best people as part of our Dodger family. We are currently looking for substitute teachers, paras and bus drivers. If you or someone you know is interested please visit the FDCSD website to apply. ENGINEERING REPORT CONCERNING THE EFFECTS UPON FCC LICENSED RF FACILITIES DUE TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE GREAT PATHFINDER WIND ENERGY PROJECT In BOONE & HAMILTON COUNTIES, IOWA Prepared for Apex Clean Energy Lake Elmo, Minnesota Revised: April 2, 2020 By: B. Benjamin Evans Evans Engineering Solutions (262) 518-0178 Phone www.evansengsolutions.com Great Pathfinder Wind, IA RF Impact Report - Page 1 ENGINEERING REPORT CONCERNING THE EFFECTS UPON FCC LICENSED RF FACILITIES DUE TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE GREAT PATHFINDER WIND ENERGY PROJECT In BOONE AND HAMILTON COUNTIES, IOWA I. INTRODUCTION This engineering report describes the results of a study and analysis to determine the locations of federally-licensed (FCC) microwave and fixed station radio frequency (RF) facilities that may be adversely impacted as a result of the construction of the Great Pathfinder Wind Energy Project in Boone and Hamilton Counties, Iowa. This document describes impact zones and any necessary mitigation procedures, along with recommendations concerning individual wind turbine siting. All illustrations, calculations and conclusions contained in this document are based on FCC database records1. Frequently, wind turbines located on land parcels near RF facilities can cause more than one mode of RF impact, and may require an iterative procedure to minimize adverse effects. This procedure is necessary in order to ensure that disruption of RF facilities either does not occur or, in the alternative, that mitigation procedures will be effective. The purpose of this study is to facilitate the siting of turbines to avoid such unacceptable impact. The Great Pathfinder Wind project as currently planned involves the construction of up to 74 wind turbines just southeast of the city of Stratford, in northern Boone County and southwestern Hamilton County, Iowa.

Quinn HALVORSONS MARK 30 YEARS EACH IN MEDIA – This month, husband and wife NAFB Broadcast Council members Rusty and Sabrina Halvorson are celebrating 30 years working in the media. Both Halvorsons started as young teens in June 1990 -- Rusty in North Dakota and Sabrina in California -- and then spent their lives sharpening their skills and building strong careers. Sabrina Halvorson started as Sabrina Wilcox, working at her father’s central California newspaper. It was her first job and the springboard into a multifaceted media career. “I loved every aspect of it,” she reminisced. “I knew that news, information, and media is where I belonged.” Sabrina worked in newspapers until the age of 22, when she was brought on as a reporter and producer for a Fresno, California, news radio and television station. “That began my infatuation with broadcasting,” she said. “I get a charge from the immediacy of it. I’m at my best when I’ve got a hot story and the phone is ringing, the clock is ticking, a juicy soundbite is cued up, and I know no one else has the story because it’s mine. Those are my favorite moments.” Spending most of her career working hard news in California, Sabrina has had many of those moments. Rusty Halvorson had his first radio job at the age of 15 in his hometown of Williston, North Dakota. “I worked with great people, who helped start what I didn’t know then was going to be such a long and fulfilling career,” he said.
