Short Stay Visa Requirements .The submission of applications at VFS opens from 08:30 AM to 12:00 Afternoon Sunday to Thursday. .Visa Application Form is to be filled in English only. .Application forms and all documents (original + copy) translated into English are to be submitted in person after a prior appointment. .Applications will be refused by the Embassy if accompanied by forged documents and will be also reported to other EU Embassies in Egypt. .Passports are to be collected by applicants from 2:00 PM till 04:00 PM in person with original receipt or a delegated person with the original receipt and copy of his/her ID. General Requirements .Original Passport issued within the last ten years and containing at least two blank pages, Passport valid for at least 3 months after return from the planned trip. .A full photocopy only the used pages “all previous visas & all Stamps” of the passport should be attached with the application .Movement certificate from Mogama’a Al Tahrir is required If the applicant doesn’t have old passport covering last 7 years and there is no gap more than 6 month between the old passport and the current one (Movement certificate is required even if the applicant has Schengen before on the old passport if there is gab between the two passport more than 6 months). Applicant who has Schengen before in the current passport doesn’t need movement certificate. .One biometric photo (with white background) not older than six months. .A round trip booking, the ticket should be bought only after the visa has been issued .Evidence of employment. (HR Letter addressed to the Embassy stating job title, date of employment, social insurance number, and salary and leave approval. (In case of there is no social insurance number it must be mentioned in the HR letter that there is no social insurance number) .HR letter for foreigners, all required details must be mentioned without the social security number. .If self-employed, a company registration record + taxation card (original + copy + translation into English ) .In case of students; an original letter by school or university stamped + English + translation. .Means of subsistence; a personal bank statement of at least last 6 months (updated maximum 15 days in the date of submission). .All Non-residential/ non- Egyptians should provide a police conduct certificate (from their country) with their documents. .Non touristic residence permits have to be valid for 3 months from return of the trip. Yemenis and Jordanians must have the stamp of unlimited permit of stay in their passports, not Egyptian passport holders who are not residents in Egypt must provide a copy of the email from the Central Visa Unit if they have been granted permission to apply in Cairo. (Any person who presents him/herself in the category of third country national without a residence permit – and therefore not formally residing in Egypt – will need to ensure that all supporting documentation provided from a foreign source be verified by the Embassy able to provide this verification or certification.) .Travel medical insurance covering the entire period of intended stay, valid for all Schengen States and covering any expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgency medical attention, emergency hospital treatment or death during stay. The minimum coverage must be 30.000 EUR. .Travel medical insurance for ALL applicants should be from Egypt NOT any other country. .Round flight ticket .In case of Minors (under 18): o If the minor travels without his/her legal guardian: consent of the parental authority (both parents) or legal guardian shall be provided by a form signed at the consulate premises ( VFS ) o If minor is travelling with one of his/her legal guardian: consent of the parental authority (parents not travelling with his/her minor child) or legal guardian shall be provided by a form signed at the consulate premises ( VFS ) o Original Birth certificate is required with translation . Additional Requirements 1. Tourism .Booking hotel reservation covering the period of stay of the whole journey including other member states if applicable. 2. Business Trip .Official invitation from the inviting company should be countersigned by a lawyer or notary public registered in Malta (on official company paper, stamped and signed containing the following information: - The full address and contacts of the company - Email address of the inviting person - Name and position of the countersigning officer - Purpose and duration of the visit - Person or entity that will bear the travel and living costs - Booking hotel reservation covering the period of stay. 3. Family or Friends Visit . Declaration of Proof to be filled by a Maltese host or resident of Malta, signed and notarized by a notary public or a lawyer + documents mentioned in page 2 of same Declaration of Proof. .Booking hotel reservation in case applicant host person will not provide accommodation. (Lease agreement) .Invitation letter from the inviter signed and notarized by a notary public or a lawyer. .if the invitation for (wife/husband/son/daughter) of the inviter person he can provide a copy of bank statement from Malta updated for the last 6 months and there is no need for a bank statement from Egypt. 4. Studying .Evidence that applicant has been accepted and payment is done in a registered language course from a recognized institution in Malta and should be countersigned by a lawyer or notary public registered in Malta. The invitation should be contains the below information: o Email address of the inviting person o Address in details of the company o Contact number .Evidence that applicant is in possession of sufficient means of subsistence to cover expenses for the given course and to reside in Malta .Proof of accommodation. 5. Medical Treatment .A letter from a Maltese doctor or a hospital confirming an appointment and explaining the nature of treatment, estimated cost and duration of treatment and should be countersigned by a lawyer or notary public registered in Malta The invitation should be contains the below information: o Email address of the inviting person Address in details of the company o Contact number .Evidence of ability to meet costs 6. Fisherman or Seaman 1- Official invitation from the inviting company mentioned the job of the applicant and should be countersigned by a lawyer or notary public registered in Malta on official company paper, stamped and signed containing the following information: o Fishing vessel number and name o Email address of the inviting person o Address in details of the company o Contact number o A criminal record (translated in English) for fisherman only. o Full contact details of the lawyer or the notary public 2- Yellow Medical Card (only for applicant who hold seaman passport), (translated in English) 3- Means of subsistence; a bank statement of at least last 6 months (updated maximum 15 days in the date of submission). 4- Official HR letter for both seamen and fishermen from Malta or experience letters. 5- One way flight ticket. .Copy of fishing ID translated into English and valid at least 3 months from the end of the validity of the visa. .Seaman passport valid at least 3 months from the end of the validity of the visa For seaman 7. Sports .Invitation from the inviting club or organization required and should be countersigned by a lawyer or notary public registered in Malta (on official company paper, stamped and signed containing the following information: o Address in details of the company o Contact number o Email address of the inviting person .Proof of accommodation. .
