Dating from the 1890s into the 1960s, genres include cowboy ballads, movie theme songs, two-steps, foxtrots, polkas, tangos, waltzes, piano studies and rags, choral pieces, school marches, Christmas and religious music, Spanish, Mexican, Native American and Hawaiian songs, military and patriotic pieces, romantic classics and parlor music. Many titles are about Colorado and Denver, and many other western states are included.
