Easter Brunch & Egg Hunt Library of Congress Tour Orioles Opening MARCH / APRIL 2020 Easter Brunch Library of Orioles & Egg Hunt Congress Tour Opening Day A PLATINUM CLUB Spring is an invigorating time in Baltimore; why not enjoy it with the best view in the city? The Center Club is your place to gather with colleagues, relax with old friends and new, celebrate family milestones and enjoy exceptional food and service as well as engaging special events and programming. Hope springs eternal as we welcome Major League Baseball downtown for the Orioles 28th year at Camden Yards with March 26 as Opening Day against the New York Yankees. There’s no better place for a pre-game meal or snack than the Orioles Pub at The Center Club. I look forward to seeing fans throughout the season, as well as the dependable “How ‘bout ‘dem O’s?” conversations in our elevator. Patricia “PJ” Mitchell Throughout March and April, look for Intraclub meetings and Interest group President gatherings, including Executive Forums, Spanish Roundtable, Healthcare Connections and more. In addition to several outstanding speakers, there is a Viewpoints Lunch Drop-in scheduled for Thursday, March 12 beginning at noon. Come to meet and enjoy time with some of the most accomplished and interesting women in the Baltimore area. Take your own “spring break,” even if your college days are long behind you. The Center Club is a great place for a break in your workday. (Never fear— we have excellent Wi-Fi and a Business Center to keep you connected). By the end of April, lively campaigns will culminate with a primary election of great consequence to our city and our nation. No doubt there will be many a respectful discussion over cocktails or dinner at the Club. The Center Club has long been a place of civil discourse and a deep commitment to Baltimore.     Orioles name Mark Elias as new general manager Posted by Alan Van Wormer On 11/16/2018 BALTIMORE - The Orioles today announced that MIKE ELIAS has been named the club’s next Executive Vice President and General Manager. Elias will oversee all baseball operations for the club and have full autonomy to build his staff and make decisions on all baseball matters that he believes will make the Orioles successful on the field, entertaining to fans, and impactful in the community. Elias just completed his 12th season in Major League Baseball, most recently serving as Assistant General Manager, Player Acquisition with the Houston Astros. Throughout his seven years in Houston, he helped to shape an Astros roster that produced back-to-back 100 win seasons, a World Series Championship, two American League Championship Series appearances, and two division titles. He was also an integral part of building one of baseball’s top-ranked farm systems that routinely served to graduate talent to the Major League club. Elias joined the Astros in 2012 as a special assistant to the General Manager and was a key contributor to Houston’s top-ranked First-Year Player Draft by Baseball America. That year, he was named the club’s Director of Amateur Scouting, a role in which he served as one of the organization’s top talent evaluators. In 2016, he was promoted to Assistant General Manager, Scouting and Player Development, overseeing multiple facets of baseball operations, including player development, minor league operations, and the draft. Additionally, he has led domestic and international scouting efforts for the club since 2017.
